PATTERNS IN THE RELATIVE PRICE FOR DIFFERENT SIZES OF FARMED FISH [PDF]
Fish farming is a biological production process dependent upon biological and environmental conditions. These constraints imply that different fish farmers are likely to have a similar distribution of different sizes of fish over time.

Water quality and nutrient dynamics - Lake Victoria, Kenya [PDF]
Limnological studies in Lake Victoria (Kenyan portion) have been sporadic. Water quality and nutrient dynamics studies are being undertaken in fifteen sampling sites that have been divided into four ecological zones namely: Nyanza Gulf, Rusinga Channel ...

Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Proper handling of fish is a key factor influencing the success of fresh fish distribution and trade. However, in practice, handling procedures are often inadequately implemented by fishermen, resulting in reduced fish quality and price.

Distribution of Hyaluronidase in Fish Tissues
Hyaluronidase was demonstrated in the extracts from liver, heart, kidney, digestive tract and others of the fish. The enzyme was not demonstrable in testes of many fishes. A special mention was made on the existence of a large amount of hyaluronidase in the extracts from stomachs of certain carnivorous fishes.

We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Despite efforts to use environmental DNA (eDNA), accurately quantifying fish populations remains a challenge. A recent eDNA approach provided reliable estimates of coastal fish population abundance, but it was not as effective for assessing spatial ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...
