Cost-benefit analysis of ecosystem modelling to support fisheries management [PDF]
Mathematical and statistical models underlie many of the world's most important fisheries management decisions. Since the 19th century, difficulty calibrating and fitting such models has been used to justify the selection of simple, stationary, single-species models to aid tactical fisheries management decisions.

Multispecies Fisheries Management
Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY) theory, based on a single species dynamics model, has been considered to rule out both no-take rules and overfishing. It is thought to recommend moderate catch rates that do not lead to exhaustion of the fish population.

Prospek Pengelolaan Sumber Daya Perikanan Berbasis Ekosistem: Studi Empiris Di Karimunjawa*
The objectives of the study are: to compare the model of fisheries management with conventional versus new paradigm; to explore the prospect of new fisheries management model; to formulate the initial strategy of fisheries management model using EBFM ...

Resilient Salmon, Resilient Fisheries for British Columbia, Canada
Salmon are inherently resilient species. However, this resiliency has been undermined in British Columbia by a century of centralized, command-and-control management focused initially on maximizing yield and, more recently, on economic efficiency ...

Harvesting Fisheries Management Strategies With Modified Effort Function [PDF]
In traditional harvesting model a fishing effort E is defined by the fishing intensity and does not address the inverse effect of fish abundance on the fishing effort. In this paper, based on a canonical differential equation model, we developed a new fishing effort model which relies on the density effect of fish population.
