The complete mitochondrial genome of Sargassum siliquastrum (Phaeophyceae) and its phylogenetic analysis

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2020
The complete S. siliquastrum mitogenome length was 34,765 bp. The mitogenome contains 67 genes, including 37 protein-coding, three rRNA, 25 tRNA genes, and two conserved open reading frames (ORFs). The overall GC content of the genome is 36.59%.

Change of paradigms in management of fishery: from conception to realization?

open access: yesИзвестия ТИНРО, 2017
A new system of views on effective management in fisheries has been developed by fishery science in the beginning of the 21st century under the aegis of FAO (UN). It claims the principle of ecosystem approach in fishery studies. However, this approach is

Climate Risks and Opportunities of the Marine Fishery Industry: A Case Study in Taiwan

open access: yesFishes, 2022
As climate change and extreme weather intensify, forecasting natural environmental changes involves high uncertainty and variation. Planned policy changes and the ability of fisheries to withstand these changes and impacts are major challenges in regard ...

Price Forecast for Mexican Red Spiny Lobster (Panulirus spp.) Using Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs)

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
The selling price is one of the essential variables in decision making for fishers regarding the catching of a fishing resource. In the case of the Pacific Mexican lobster fishery, the price uncertainty at the beginning of the season translates into the ...

Modelling and Forecasting the Catch of the Scads (Decapterus macrosoma, Decapterus russellii) in the Javanese Purse Seine Fishery Using ARIMA Time Series Models

open access: yesAsian Fisheries Science, 2000
The standard of living of the purse seine fishers operating in the northern coast of the Java Island is closely related to scad resources. Scads landings of the semi-industrial purseseine fishery were analyzed using Seasonal Auto Regressive ...

A Model for Fishery Forecast based on Cluster Analysis and Nonlinear Regression [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Intelligent Systems Research, 2014
There has been an increasing amount of research in the relationship between environmental factors and fishing yield. This paper adds to the body of knowledge by developing a new model for forecasting fishing yield. The model combines fishery domain expert knowledge, marine environmental factor data such as water temperature, chlorophyll ...

Application of Gradient-Dependent Optimal Interpolation in Fishery Analysis of Neon Flying Squid (Ommastrephes bartramii) in the Kuroshio–Oyashio Confluence Region

open access: yesAnimals, 2023
A key issue in fishery forecasting is the collection of high-precision subsurface environmental data. A data assimilation method, named gradient-dependent optimal interpolation, was used to construct the near-real-time vertical temperature and salinity ...
