Dissipative collisions in $^{16}$O + $^{27}$Al at E$_{lab}$=116 MeV
The inclusive energy distributions of fragments (3$\leq$Z$\leq$7) emitted in the reaction $^{16}$O + $^{27}$Al at $E_{lab} = $116 MeV have been measured in the angular range $\theta_{lab} $= 15$^\circ$ - 115$^\circ$.

One day of environment‐induced heat stress causes injury to the murine kidney
Abstract Environment‐induced heat stress (EIHS) results from sustained body temperature elevation owing to prolonged exposure to heat and humidity. We hypothesized that EIHS would cause kidney injury and cellular dysfunction. To test this hypothesis, female C57 mice were exposed to EIHS (n = 14; 37.6°C, 42.0% relative humidity) or thermoneutral (TN ...

A New Method of Measuring 81Kr and 85Kr Abundances in Environmental Samples
We demonstrate a new method for determining the 81Kr/Kr ratio in environmental samples based upon two measurements: the 85Kr/81Kr ratio measured by Atom Trap Trace Analysis (ATTA) and the 85Kr/Kr ratio measured by Low-Level Counting (LLC).

Preparation of fission foils for fission ionization chambers using a painting technique [PDF]
Fission foils for use in fission ionization chambers were produced by painting metal substrates with coats of fissionable isotopes. Areal densities as large as 2.0 mg/cm/sup 2/ were obtained with excellent adhesion. This painting technique has been successful in depositing isotopes of uranium, plutonium, americium, and curium on metal substrates made ...

Abstract Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a psychiatric disorder characterized by prolonged caloric restriction and skeletal muscle atrophy. Mitochondrial health is a key mediator of muscle function, yet the role of mitochondria during AN and following weight regain has not been investigated. The objective of this study was to evaluate mitochondrial capacities

Abstract figure legend Placental mitochondrial adaptation to gestational hypoxia. Hypoxic pregnancy in sheep increases placental insulin like growth factor 2 (IGF2) signalling (1), which is associated with a shift in capacity away from β‐oxidation (2) and complex I‐mediated respiration (3), while maintaining total oxidative phosphorylation capacity (4).

Ion counting efficiencies at the IGISOL facility [PDF]
At the IGISOL-JYFLTRAP facility, fission mass yields can be studied at high precision. Fission fragments from a U target are passing through a Ni foil and entering a gas filled chamber.
