Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.

Aging Is a Key Driver for Adult Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a classical age‐related hematologic malignancy, and a key driver of AML is aging, which profoundly regulates intrinsic factors such as genomic instability, epigenetic reprogramming, and metabolic dysregulation, and alters bone marrow microenvironment.

Change and Tracking of Physical Fitness Among Children Aged 5–12 Years: A Systematic Review

open access: yesSports
Background: Understanding physical fitness (PF) trajectories during childhood is essential because they reflect developmental differences and indicate whether early fitness levels predict later outcomes.

A Robust Random Forest-Based Approach for Heart Rate Monitoring Using Photoplethysmography Signal Contaminated by Intense Motion Artifacts

open access: yesSensors, 2017
The estimation of heart rate (HR) based on wearable devices is of interest in fitness. Photoplethysmography (PPG) is a promising approach to estimate HR due to low cost; however, it is easily corrupted by motion artifacts (MA).

Chronobiology of Cancer: How Aging Fuels Oncogenesis at the Molecular Level

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract illustrates the key biological pathways linking aging with cancer development and progression. In the upper left, cumulative exposure to ultraviolet radiation, toxins, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) causes DNA damage and genomic instability, whereas age‐related decline in repair mechanisms, such as ATM/ATR, BER, and NER ...

Self‐Regulated Learning Meets AI: Reinterpreting Self‐Regulation, Co‐Regulation, and Socially Shared Regulation in Human–AI Interaction

open access: yesNew Directions for Adult and Continuing Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Advancing artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed learning and work, yet higher education and professional development programs have not systematically equipped learners for AI‐prevalent environments. This lack of preparation creates uncertainty regarding control, responsibility, trust, and accountability.

ML Health: Fitness Tracking for Production Models

open access: yesCoRR, 2019
Deployment of machine learning (ML) algorithms in production for extended periods of time has uncovered new challenges such as monitoring and management of real-time prediction quality of a model in the absence of labels. However, such tracking is imperative to prevent catastrophic business outcomes resulting from incorrect predictions.

Sex Representation in US Stroke Clinical Trials: A Decade of Trends and Challenges

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Stroke remains a major cause of disability and mortality in the US, with significant sex‐based disparities, and females remain underrepresented in stroke clinical trials. We aimed to examine sex representation in US‐based stroke clinical trials, identify trial characteristics associated with higher female enrollment (≥ 50%), and ...
