A note on fitting classes

open access: yesMathematische Zeitschrift, 1974
A subgroup V of G is called an j in jector of G if Vc~ N is F-maximal in N (that is, Vn N is a maximal ~-subgroup of N) for each subnormal subgroup N of G. It is known that the ~-injectors of a group G form a conjugacy class of subgroups 1,2]. If ~-injectors are always normal then ~ is called a normal Fitting class.

Patient‐Level Barriers and Facilitators to Inpatient Physical Therapy in Adolescents and Young Adults With a Hematological Malignancy: A Qualitative Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Despite their increased risk for functional impairment resulting from cancer and its treatments, few adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with a hematological malignancy receive the recommended or therapeutic dose of exercise per week during inpatient hospitalizations.

Locally defined Fitting classes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Australian Mathematical Society, 1975
Fitting classes of finite solvable groups were first considered by Fischer, who with Gäschutz and Hartley (1967) showed in that in each finite solvable group there is a unique conjugacy class of “-injectors”, for a Fitting class. In general the behaviour of Fitting classes and injectors seems somewhat mysterious and hard to determine.

Characterizing Parental Concerns About Lasting Impacts of Treatment in Children With B‐Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background B‐acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B‐ALL) is the most common pediatric cancer, and while most children in high‐resource settings are cured, therapy carries risks for long‐term toxicities. Understanding parents’ concerns about these late effects is essential to guide anticipatory support and inform evolving therapeutic approaches ...

Tail dependence of perturbed copulas [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Theory and Applications (JSTA), 2016
In this paper, we extend our investigations of a special class of perturbations of copulas introduced in [7]. Despite a surprising fact that this kind of perturbations does not change the value of tail dependence of the original copulas, their use ...

Brief communication: Mapping Greenland's perennial firn aquifers using enhanced-resolution L-band brightness temperature image time series [PDF]

open access: yesThe Cryosphere, 2020
Enhanced-resolution L-band brightness temperature (TB) image time series generated from observations collected over the Greenland Ice Sheet by NASA's Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) satellite are used to map Greenland's perennial firn aquifers from ...

Clinical Characteristics and Prognostic Risk Factors for Pediatric B‐Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma: A Multicenter Retrospective Cohort Study for China Net Childhood Lymphoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background B‐cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (B‐LBL) represents a rare variety of non‐Hodgkin lymphoma, with limited research on its biology, progression, and management. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical characteristics of 256 patients aged ≤18 years who received treatment under the China Net Childhood Lymphoma (CNCL)‐

Technical note: Effects of uncertainties and number of data points on line fitting – a case study on new particle formation [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2019
Fitting a line to two measured variables is considered one of the simplest statistical procedures researchers can carry out. However, this simplicity is deceptive as the line-fitting procedure is actually quite a complex problem.

CSC-GCN: Contrastive semantic calibration for graph convolution network

open access: yesJournal of Information and Intelligence, 2023
Graph convolutional networks (GCNs) have been successfully applied to node representation learning in various real-world applications. However, the performance of GCNs drops rapidly when the labeled data are severely scarce, and the node features are ...

Exercise Interventions in Children, Adolescents and Young Adults With Paediatric Bone Tumours—A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Bone tumours present significant challenges for affected patients, as multimodal therapy often leads to prolonged physical limitations. This is particularly critical during childhood and adolescence, as it can negatively impact physiological development and psychosocial resilience.
