A Four-Switch Five-Level Inverter

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2021
This article introduces a new single-phase five-level inverter with reduced switch count, composed by a coupled-inductor, four switches, and two diodes. Its detailed analysis is provided, including a space-vector pulsewidth modulation strategy and design of its components. Compared with the conventional three-level neutral-point clamped (NPC) inverter,

Power balancing in five level inverters

2013 12th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering, 2013
This paper presents a unique control scheme for achieving power balancing in recently proposed multilevel inverter topologies. Moreover, this strategy can be extended to any type of topology and to any number of output levels of multilevel inverter (MLI).Comparisons have been made between the power delivered by sources in two different topologies with ...

Hybrid five-level T-type inverter

IECON 2014 - 40th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2014
Multilevel inverters have proven to be a solid technology in electrical drive applications. A new voltage source multilevel converter topology, that is a hybrid between three-level flying capacitor and T-type inverters, is introduced. The proposed topology can produce live output voltage levels.

Parallel-connected five-level PWM inverters

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2003
Multilevel PWM inverters have significant advantages over the conventional one because of the capability of operating the motor with nearly sinusoidal current waveforms and higher output voltages. In order to increase the power rating of the inverter, connection in parallel would be effective in the present case.
