Five-phase induction motor drive with sine-wave filter
2014 IEEE 23rd International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE), 2014The paper presents closed-loop ac drive with 5-phase induction motor operating with voltage source inverter and sine-wave filter. The motor supply voltages and currents have sinusoidal shape. For well known adjustable electric drives the field oriented control method with flux and speed control can be applied.

Fault Detection Algorithm for Five-Phase Induction Motor Drive
2019 Applications of Electromagnetics in Modern Engineering and Medicine (PTZE), 2019The paper presents the operation possibility of a five-phase induction motor drive for healthy conditions, and for open phase faults. This includes the investigation of the mechanical torque and current characteristics of the machine during the healthy and fault operation.

New Switch Ladder Topology For Five Phase Multilevel Inverter Fed Five Phase Induction Motor
2018 International Conference on Recent Innovations in Electrical, Electronics & Communication Engineering (ICRIEECE), 2018A five phase induction motor is modeled in the MATLAB simulink and a New Five Phase Multilevel Inverter is presented for the 5-ϕ IM to generate a maximum output voltage levels. In this topology symmetric and asymmetric source are considered and the output levels are analysed.

Studies on inverter-fed five-phase induction motor drive
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 1988The advantages of higher-phase-order drives are reviewed, and results of investigations of a five-pulse inverter-fed induction motor are presented. Methods of improving the waveform of the motor phase current in the five-phase drive are examined theoretically as well as experimentally.

Predictive Torque Control for five-phase induction motor drives
IECON 2010 - 36th Annual Conference on IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2010Multiphase electric drives have been recently proposed for applications where the highest overall system reliability, combined with a reduction in the total power per phase, are required. Strategies like Field Oriented Control (FOC) and Direct Torque Control (DTC) have been traditionally used in these high performance applications.

Vector controlled five-phase PWM-CSI induction motor drive
4th International Conference on Power Engineering, Energy and Electrical Drives, 2013The on-line generation of carrier based gating signal for pulse width modulation-current source inverter (PWM-CSI) extends the duality between VSI and CSI. Accordingly, feedback control strategies with voltage source inverter, (VSI) such as vector control technique can be applicable with CSI.

Sensorless Vector Control of Five-phase Induction Motor under Open-phases Fault
Electric Power Components and Systems, 2014Abstract—This article deals with proposed solutions for five-phase induction motor drives, specifically aimed to sensorless vector control under an open-phases fault. Exploiting the modified transformation matrices for dual planes, the motor model in the synchronous frame is established under open phases.

Torque Ripple Suppression of a Five-phase Induction Motor under Single-phase Open
2020 IEEE 9th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC2020-ECCE Asia), 2020This digest introduces a new minimum torque ripple control strategy for post-fault operation of a five-phase induction motor. Based on the steady-state motor model using symmetrical components (SCs), the torque ripple is mainly caused by the first and fourth SCs.

Modeling of a five-phase induction motor drive with a faulty phase
2012 15th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (EPE/PEMC), 2012Fault-tolerance capability is one of the most attractive characteristics of multiphase machines for industrial applications. Resent research has proven that post-fault ripple-free operation is possible as long as the reference currents generate a smoothly rotating magnetomotive force (MMF).
