Circulating miR‐144‐3p as a Novel Independent Biomarker Associated With Low Muscle Strength Among Older Adults

open access: yesJournal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle, Volume 16, Issue 4, August 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Low muscle strength, a key component of sarcopenia, is significant in the development of adverse health outcomes among older adults. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have been implicated in mechanisms of sarcopenia; however, their specific functions in sarcopenia components, particularly low muscle strength, remain unclear.

Reduced JAG1 Expression Through miR‐200 Overexpression or Crispr‐Cas Mediated Knockout Impairs TNBC Growth and Metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Carcinogenesis, Volume 64, Issue 8, Page 1394-1409, August 2025.
ABSTRACT Studies from our lab demonstrated that increasing miR‐200 expression in human triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) reduced tumor growth and metastasis In Vivo. In this study, we found that overexpression of miR‐200s in TNBC cells significantly reduced the expression of JAG1.

Plumbagin Triggers Cuproptosis in Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) via the DNA‐Methyltransferase 1 (DNMT1)/microRNA‐302a‐3p (miR‐302a‐3p)/ATPase Copper Transporting Beta (ATP7B) Axis

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 8, August 2025.
A natural biological molecule, plumbagin (PLB), suppresses hepatocellular carcinoma via cuproptosis. PLB treatment transcriptionally downregulates the primary hepatic copper exporter, ATP7B, thereby accumulating intracellular copper ions to trigger cuproptosis.

Impact of Acute Endurance Exercise on Alternative Splicing in Skeletal Muscle

open access: yesFASEB BioAdvances, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2025.
Current model on the effects of acute endurance exercise on the AS regulatory mechanism with key trans‐factors/RBPs (e.g., hnRNP‐A1, ‐A3, and TIA1). ABSTRACT Alternative splicing (AS) is a highly conserved posttranscriptional mechanism, generating mRNA variants to diversify the proteome.

Sortilin‐1, Targeted by miR‐146a, Regulates the Behavior of Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 16, Issue 15, August 2025.
Immunohistochemistry revealed elevated sortilin‐1 expression in NSCLC patient tissues compared to adjacent normal tissue. In vitro, miR‐146a directly targeted and downregulated sortilin‐1 in NSCLC cell lines, as confirmed by dual‐luciferase reporter assay, qRT‐PCR, and Western blot.

Torque teno virus as a marker of immune status in immunocompromised patients: A systematic review

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Clinical Investigation, Volume 55, Issue 8, August 2025.
Abstract Background Torque teno virus (TTV) is not known to cause disease in humans; however, chronic inflammatory conditions and immunosuppression states can favour TTV replication. This study aimed to verify the effectiveness of TTV as an immune biomarker.

Pra‐GE‐ATLAS: Empowering Pinus radiata stress and breeding research through a multi‐omics database

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, Volume 67, Issue 8, Page 2028-2043, August 2025.
Gymnosperms represent molecular and ecological diversity hotspots, yet they remain understudied due to limited community resources. To address this gap, the P(inus)ra(diata)‐G(ene)E(xpression)‐ATLAS provides a refined multi‐omics platform for Pinus radiata that advances conifer research and facilitates the evaluation of conserved plant molecular ...

Genetic adaptation despite high gene flow in a range‐expanding population

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 34, Issue 15, August 2025.
Abstract Signals of natural selection can be quickly eroded in high gene flow systems, curtailing efforts to understand how and when genetic adaptation occurs in the ocean. This long‐standing, unresolved topic in ecology and evolution has renewed importance because changing environmental conditions are driving range expansions that may necessitate ...
