Fixed-Point Posets in Theories of Truth [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We show that any coherent complete partial order is obtainable as the fixed-point poset of the strong Kleene jump of a suitably chosen first-order ground model.

A renormalization fixed point for Lorenz maps

open access: yes, 2010
A Lorenz map is a Poincar\'e map for a three-dimensional Lorenz flow. We describe the theory of renormalization for Lorenz maps with a critical point and prove that a restriction of the renormalization operator acting on such maps has a hyperbolic fixed ...

An Optimal Pursuit Differential Game Problem with One Evader and Many Pursuers

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
The objective of this paper is to study a pursuit differential game with finite or countably number of pursuers and one evader. The game is described by differential equations in l 2 -space, and integral constraints are imposed on the control ...

A Weak Convergence Self-Adaptive Method for Solving Pseudomonotone Equilibrium Problems in a Real Hilbert Space

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
In this paper, we presented a modification of the extragradient method to solve pseudomonotone equilibrium problems involving the Lipschitz-type condition in a real Hilbert space.

Thermostable neutral metalloprotease from Geobacillus sp. EA1 does not share thermolysin's preference for substrates with leucine at the P1′ position

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Knowing how proteases recognise preferred substrates facilitates matching proteases to applications. The S1′ pocket of protease EA1 directs cleavage to the N‐terminal side of hydrophobic residues, particularly leucine. The S1′ pocket of thermolysin differs from EA's at only one position (leucine in place of phenylalanine), which decreases cleavage ...

Exploring lipid diversity and minimalism to define membrane requirements for synthetic cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Designing the lipid membrane of synthetic cells is a complex task, in which its various roles (among them solute transport, membrane protein support, and self‐replication) should all be integrated. In this review, we report the latest top‐down and bottom‐up advances and discuss compatibility and complexity issues of current engineering approaches ...

Intuitionistic fixed point theories over Heyting arithmetic [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper we show that an intuitionistic theory for fixed points is conservative over the Heyting arithmetic with respect to a certain class of formulas. This extends partly the result of mine.

Examination of fractional order model for the population of diabetes and the effects of changes in lifestyle on remission

open access: yesMathematical and Computer Modelling of Dynamical Systems
Diabetes can always be avoided or controlled by maintaining a balanced diet and exercising regularly. Recent studies have shown that putting a diabetic patient into remission through a strict lifestyle modification programme can help their blood glucose ...

Brownian Motion and Thermophoresis Effects on MHD Three Dimensional Nanofluid Flow with Slip Conditions and Joule Dissipation Due to Porous Rotating Disk

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
This paper examines the time independent and incompressible flow of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) nanofluid through a porous rotating disc with velocity slip conditions. The mass and heat transmission with viscous dissipation is scrutinized.

C‐mannosylation promotes ADAMTS1 activation and secretion in human testicular germ cell tumor NEC8 cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
C‐mannosylation is a unique form of protein glycosylation. In this study, we demonstrated that ADAMTS1 is C‐mannosylated at Trp562 and Trp565 in human testicular germ cell tumor NEC8 cells. We found that C‐mannosylation of ADAMTS1 is essential for its secretion, processing, enzymatic activity, and ability to promote vasculogenic mimicry. These findings
