THE FIXED POINT PROPERTY FOR SUMS OF POSETS
A partially ordered set (poset) P is said to have the semi-fixed point property, if for every order-preserving function \(f: P\to P\) there exists \(p\in P\) which is comparable to f(p). In the first part of the paper, the author lists several results where the fixed point property (fpp) for a poset P follows from the semi-fixed point property of ...

We investigate fixed point properties for isometric actions of topological groups on a wide class of metric spaces, with a particular emphasis on Hilbert spaces. Instead of requiring the action to be continuous, we assume that it is ``controlled", i.e. compatible with respect to some natural left-invariant coarse structure.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Decompositions and the fixed point property for multifunctions
Relations between the fixed point properties for some classes of multifunctions of a compact Hausdorff space X, of a decomposition space X/D, where D is an upper semi-continuous decomposition of X, and of the members of D are studied. Results are applied

Kadec–Klee property and fixed points
In [Fixed Point Theory 11, No. 1, 125--128 (2010; Zbl 1228.47050)], \textit{B. Ricceri} proved that, if \(X\) is an infinite-dimensional reflexive Banach space with the Kadec-Klee property, then, for every compact function \(f:S_X\to X^*\) with \(\inf_{x\in S_X} f(x)>0\), there exists \(\hat{x}\) in the unit sphere \(S_X\) of \(X\) such that \(\langle ...

Existence and Properties of p-tupling Fixed Points [PDF]
We prove the existence of fixed points of p-tupling renormalization operators for interval and circle mappings having a critical point of arbitrary real degree r > 1. Some properties of the resulting maps are studied: analyticity, univalence, behavior as $r$ tends to infinity.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Property ( k) of Orlicz Sequence Spaces
Property ( k) is an important geometric property in Banach spaces, and it is closely associated with fixed point property. By the geometric theory of Banach spaces and Orlicz spaces, we investigated the characterization for property( k) in a special ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

On topological groups with an approximate fixed point property
A topological group G has the Approximate Fixed Point (AFP) property on a bounded convex subset C of a locally convex space if every continuous affine action of G on C admits a net ( x i ), x i ∈ C, such that x i - g x i ⟶ 0 for ...
