Forecasting the Dialysis Burden in Japan: Validation‐Based Projections of Prevalence and Incidence Through 2050

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Some fixed point results for fuzzy homotopic mappings

open access: yesFixed Point Theory and Applications, 2017
The first purpose of this paper is to define a homotopy for fuzzy spaces. We continue our work by showing that the property of having a fixed point is invariant by this homotopy. These theorems generalize and improve well-known results.

Fixed point results for contractive mappings in complex valued fuzzy metric spaces

open access: yesFixed Point Theory, 2018
. The aim of this paper is to introduce the notion of complex valued fuzzy metric spaces. We prove some fixed point results of contractive mappings on complex valued fuzzy metric spaces.

Association Between Individualized Education for Kidney Replacement Therapy Modality Selection and Peritoneal Dialysis Initiation: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is an established home‐based kidney replacement therapy (KRT), but its uptake remains low in Japan. We evaluated whether individualized education in a dedicated outpatient clinic was associated with the initiation of PD.

Fixed Point and Best Proximity Point Results in PIV-S-Metric Spaces

open access: yesAnnales Mathematicae Silesianae
This paper presents the concept of a partial idempotent valued S-metric space, abbreviated as PIV-S-metric space, as a generalization of both the PIV-metric space and S-metric space.

Fixed point and periodic point results for α-type F-contractions in modular metric spaces

open access: yes, 2016
Motivated by Gopal et al. (Acta Math. Sci. 36B(3):1-14, 2016). We introduce the notion of α-type F-contraction in the setting of modular metric spaces which is independent from one given in (Hussain et al. in Fixed Point Theory Appl.

Fixed point results for generalized Theta-contractions

open access: yesThe Journal of Nonlinear Sciences and Applications, 2017
Summary: The aim of this paper is to extend the result of \textit{M. Jleli} and \textit{B. Samet} [J. Inequal. Appl. 2014, Paper No. 38, 8 p. (2014; Zbl 1322.47052)] by applying a simple condition on the function \(\Theta\). With this condition, we also prove some fixed point theorems for Suzuki-Berinde type \(\Theta\)-contractions which generalize ...

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Some fixed point results for dualistic rational contractions

open access: yesApplied General Topology, 2016
In this paper, we introduce a new contraction called dualistic contraction of rational type and obtain some fixed point results. These results generalize various comparable results appeared in the literature. We provide an example to show the superiority
