An improved model predictive control strategy with fixed switching frequency
IECON 2017 - 43rd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2017This paper presents an improved model predictive control strategy with fixed switching frequency. The proposed method adds four virtual voltage vectors to the four real voltage vectors of the conventional finite control set model predictive control to reduce the harmonic content of the grid current and uses a modulator to realize fixed switching ...

A constant hysteresis-band current controller with fixed switching frequency
Industrial Electronics, 2002. ISIE 2002. Proceedings of the 2002 IEEE International Symposium on, 2002This paper proposes a constant hysteresis-band current controller with lower fixed switching frequency by adding zero mode control at proper time. An extra k-band is introduced for creating a degree of freedom to achieve constant switching frequency and maintain fixed hysteresis-band simultaneously.

Random modulation techniques with fixed switching frequency for three-phase power converters
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2000This paper proposes a new family of random modulation techniques for three-phase power converters which operate with a fixed switching frequency. The techniques are based on adjusting the duration of the zero-vectors or adjusting the three PWM pulses in a switching period.

Fixed-frequency boundary control of buck converters with second-order switching surface
2008 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2008A fixed-frequency boundary control of buck converter will be presented in this paper. The methodology is based on integrating the concept of variable hysteresis into the previously proposed boundary control technique with second-order switching surface.

Variable switching frequency is an unsolved problem in controlled-type soft-switching inverter. This paper presents two controlled-type soft-switching current modulations capable to achieve fixed switching frequency, one is by the combination of hysteresis control and triangular carrier control, the other is by variable hysteresis bandwidth. Meanwhile,

A single-phase switch-mode rectifier employing a voltage-reversal circuit is studied. The voltage-reversal circuit is switched with a fixed frequency in order to give a supply current with a sinusoidal waveform and a near-unity power factor independent of the working conditions, and to suppress the magnetic noise caused by the low-order harmonics.

Predictive Current Control with fixed switching frequency for an NPC converter
2015 IEEE 24th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE), 2015In this paper a Predictive Current Control strategy is proposed for constant switching frequency operation and verified with a neutral-point-clamped (NPC) converter for load current regulation and DC-link capacitor voltages balancing. The aim of this control technique is to obtain a modulated waveform at the output of the converter, whilst maintaining ...

Fixed switching frequency hybrid control for a permanent magnet synchronous machine
2004 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology, 2004. IEEE ICIT '04., 2005In this paper, we present a novel control strategy for motor drivers, which we have called fixed switching frequency hybrid control (FSPHC). Based on models of both motor and inverter, the hybrid control uses a formal representation of the inverter-machine group behaviour.

This paper proposes a discrete-time super-twisting sliding mode (DTSTSM) current controller for switched reluctance motors. A novel gain design procedure is proposed, guaranteeing a systematic and straightforward design stage. The method makes use of a cost function, enabling the gains that yield the best trade-off between reference tracking and low ...

Predictive-fixed switching frequency technique for 5-phase induction motor drives
2016 International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion (SPEEDAM), 2016This paper presents an enhanced predictive current control technique with fixed switching frequency applied to the 5-phase induction drives. This approach accurately predicts the required duty ratio for the PWM pulse for a given current reference in each digital time step using the vector space decomposition theory.
