Wind Energy Harvesting with Vertically Aligned Piezoelectric Inverted Flags

open access: yesSensors, 2023
Wind-energy-harvesting generators based on inverted flag architecture are an attractive option to replace batteries in low-power wireless electronic devices and deploy-and-forget distributed sensors.

Listening to the Patient: A Typology of Contextual Red Flags in Disease Management Encounters

open access: yesJournal of Patient-Centered Research and Reviews, 2020
Purpose: Patients send clues, often unwittingly, when they are grappling with a life challenge that complicates their care. For instance, a patient may lose control of a previously well-managed chronic condition or start missing appointments.

Pinned-flags of some operations on fuzzy subgroups

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2005
Fuzzy subgroups of finite groups have been treated recently using the concept of pinned-flags. In this paper, we consider the operations of intersection, sum, product, and quotient of fuzzy subgroups of finite abelian groups in general, in terms of ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics

Physiotherapy students’ assessment of psychosocial yellow flags in low back pain

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Physiotherapy, 2007
Background: Low Back Pain (LBP) makes up a large proportion of referrals to physiotherapy worldwide. Thus training in its effective assessment and management is essential.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.
