Mechanism of Spontaneous Acceleration of Slow Flame in Channel
This paper is devoted to the numerical analysis of the spontaneous acceleration of a slow flame in a semi-closed channel. In particular, the flow development in the channel ahead of the propagating flame is analyzed.

Dynamic behavior and flame acceleration of outwardly expanding flame in hydrogen-air mixture
From the perspective of safety, it is necessary to assess the risk of hydrogen-air deflagration accurately. Especially, flame propagation velocity is one of the most important factors.

Promotion of deflagration-to-detonation transition by repeated obstacle rods
We experimentally investigated the promotion of deflagration-to-detonation transition (DDT) in hydrogen-air mixtures contained in a tube in which straight-shaped rods were installed as obstacles.

Premixed Propane–Air Flame Propagation in a Narrow Channel with Obstacles
Flame interaction with obstacles can affect significantly its behavior due to flame front wrinkling, changes in the flame front surface area, and momentum and heat losses.

Characteristics of diffusion flames with accelerated motion
The aim of this work is to present an experiment to study the characteristics of a laminar diffusion flame under acceleration. A Bunsen burner (nozzle diameter 8 mm), using liquefied petroleum gas as its fuel, was ignited under acceleration.

Modeling flame acceleration in H2 turbulent combustion: Strategies to reduce computational cost
Reducing the computational cost of fluid dynamics simulations is one of the main challenges in many complex industrial flows’ problems. This challenge becomes more crucial in nuclear safety applications, such as the simulation of accident sequences in ...

Sectioning of Potential Explosion Domains to Reduce the Severity of a Vapour Cloud Explosion
Medium scale vapour cloud explosion experiments demonstrated that the severity of a vapour cloud explosion (VCE) can be reduced substantially by initiating counter fires within a vapour cloud as soon as a developing flame can be detected within the ...
