Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Single-Degenerate Type Ia Supernovae Are Preferentially Overluminous
Recent observational and theoretical progress has favored merging and helium-accreting sub-Chandrasekhar mass white dwarfs in the double-degenerate and the double-detonation channels, respectively, as the most promising progenitors of normal Type Ia ...

From Single Atoms to Nanoparticles: Pathways Toward Efficient and Durable Pt/TiO2 Photocatalysts
Platinum single atoms on TiO2 nanosheets evolve into clusters and nanoparticles under ethanol photoreforming and thermal treatments. By controlling deposition and post‐treatments, particle size and location on specific facets are modulated. The study reveals how stability pathways determine efficiency, guiding the design of more durable photocatalysts.

Developing recyclable materials for magnetic robotics that combine rapid response and self‐healing properties is challenging. Hence, this study focuses on the integration of magnetothermal nanoparticles into a dynamic sorbitol‐based vitrimer, a recyclable composite capable of remote actuation and self‐healing by magnetic heating.

Inspired by natural silicified wood, a biomimetic mineralized chitin‐derived aerogel is constructed. It can withstand 81 000 times its own weight, and its backside temperature is 130.4°C after exposure to ∼1300°C butane flame for 600 s, exhibiting high‐strength, fire‐resistance, and super thermal‐insulation properties.

Modeling flame acceleration in H2 turbulent combustion: Strategies to reduce computational cost
Reducing the computational cost of fluid dynamics simulations is one of the main challenges in many complex industrial flows’ problems. This challenge becomes more crucial in nuclear safety applications, such as the simulation of accident sequences in ...

Sectioning of Potential Explosion Domains to Reduce the Severity of a Vapour Cloud Explosion
Medium scale vapour cloud explosion experiments demonstrated that the severity of a vapour cloud explosion (VCE) can be reduced substantially by initiating counter fires within a vapour cloud as soon as a developing flame can be detected within the ...
