The development of a combustion temperature standard for the calibration of optical diagnostic techniques [PDF]
This thesis describes the development and evaluation of a high-temperature combustion standard. This comprises a McKenna burner premixed flame, together with a full assessment of its temperature, stability and reproducibility.

Two-stage heat release in nitromethane/air flame and its impact on laminar flame speed measurement
In premixed flames of most hydrocarbon fuels, there is only one stage heat release. However, two-stage heat release occurs in premixed nitromethane/air flames under certain conditions.

Eutectic mixtures from trans‐vaccenic acid (TVA) and stearic acid, which served as phase‐change material to encapsulate IR780, forming NIR‐responsive nanoparticles. IR780@TVA LNPs induce photothermal therapy and initiate adaptive anti‐tumor immunity.

ZrO2 Aerogel‐Supported Pd Nanoparticles for Photothermal CO2 Reduction
Nanoparticle‐based aerogels are promising catalysts for photothermal reactions due to optical transparency, high surface area, and low thermal conductivity. Here, we present deposition of Pd nanoparticles on ZrO2 aerogel granules by a wet‐impregnation approach.

The Effect of Jet-Induced Disturbances on the Flame Characteristics of Hydrogen–Air Mixtures
To mitigate explosion hazards arising from hydrogen leakage and subsequent mixing with air, the injection of inert gases can substantially diminish explosion risk. However, prevailing research has predominantly characterized inert gas dilution effects on

FLAME SHAPES AND HEAT TRANSFER CHARACTERISTICS OF AN IMPINGING FLAME JET
Experiments were conducted on premixed LPG/air circular flame jet impinging normally on a rectangular flat surface. The heat transfer characteristics and flame shapes have been studied by varying the different parameters like equivalence ratio (0.8, 1, 1.2 and 1.4) and Reynolds number (500, 600, 800, 1000, 1200 and 1500).

A Review of Failure Modes and Safety Strategies of Lithium‐Ion Batteries from Materials to Systems
A cascade‐aware framework is presented for lithium‐ion battery safety, linking thermal runaway initiation, acceleration, runaway reaction, and propagation with material‐, cell/pack‐, and system‐level interventions. By integrating failure mechanisms, quantitative safety indicators, and staged interception strategies, this review highlights how safer ...

Burning velocity of premixed turbulent flames in the weakly wrinkled regime
PhDTurbulent burning velocities have been measured for methane/air and ethylene/air planar flames stabilised in a wide-angled conical diffuser where the flow is decelerated axially.

Hypergolic Copper Cluster‐Based Covalent Organic Frameworks
Hpergolic cluster‐based covalent organic framework (Cu3‐CB‐COF), assembled from aldehyde‐functionalized carborane monomers and trinuclear copper clusters, demonstrates a strong synergy between its catalytic copper nodes and energetic carborane backbones.
