Characterization of Cantaloupe, Grape, Pumpkin, and Tomato Seed Oils From Xinjiang: Oxidative Stability, Volatile‐Compound Analysis, and Sensory Evaluation

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
This study compares oxidative stability, fatty acid profiles, volatile compounds, and sensory attributes of four Xinjiang seed oils. Distinct aldehyde‐driven aroma patterns and compositional differences were revealed, providing a scientific basis for quality evaluation and valorization of underutilized plant seed oils in food applications.

Experimental and Numerical Study on the Plasma-Laser-Induced Ignition of Strut Stabilizer at Different Locations

open access: yesAerospace
The minimum ignition equivalence ratio of the strut stabilizer is an important parameter in the design of integrated afterburners. The ignition location significantly affects the ignition equivalence ratio and flame propagation, and therefore, it should ...

Influence of plasma-assisted ignition on flame propagation and performance in a spark-ignition engine

open access: yesApplications in Energy and Combustion Science, 2021
Lean-burn is an attractive concept for reasons of high thermal efficiency and low nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, however, successful implementation in spark-ignition (SI) engines turned out to be challenging because of misfire or partial burn caused by ...

Characterization of Fatty Acid Profiles and Nutritional Quality Indices in Commercial Spreadable Processed Cheeses: Comparative Analysis and Health Implications

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
Natural processed cheeses showed a more favorable nutritional profile, including higher unsaturated fatty acids and better functional performance. A balanced fatty acid composition was identified as a key factor influencing meltability, oil separation, and overall quality of processed cheeses.

Spark Ignited Turbulent Flame Kernel Growth [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
An experimental study of the effects of spark power and of incomplete fuel-air mixing on spark-ignited flame kernel growth was conducted in turbulent propane-air mixtures at 1 atm, 300K conditions. The results showed that increased spark power resulted in an increased growth rate, where the effect of short duration breakdown sparks was found to persist

Numerical Investigation of Flow Structures and Combustion Mechanisms with Different Injection Locations in a Hydrogen-Fueled Scramjet Combustor

open access: yesFire
This work primarily focuses on a three-dimensional model of flame propagation and stable combustion in a scramjet chamber. The one-equation LES turbulence model is adopted to close the sub-grid-scale turbulent viscosity terms.

Mycotoxin management in the cereal supply chain: Advanced detection, detoxification, and smart packaging strategies

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract Mycotoxins remain a persistent threat to the safety and quality of cereal grains and other agricultural products, and their impact on human health continues to raise global concerns. In many situations, the practices traditionally used to control these toxins are no longer sufficiently effective. They can be costly, difficult to implement on a
