Exploring the Application of Waxes and Their Mixtures Oleogels in Ice Cream

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The objective of this work was to produce ice cream using waxes oleogels, aiming to improve its nutritional value while maintaining its physical‐chemistry characteristics. Five ice cream formulations were manufactured using (1) milk fat, (2) canola oil, and (3–5) canola oil‐oleogels. The oleogels were produced with beeswax (BEW), carnauba wax (

Multi-Scale Video Flame Detection for Early Fire Warning Based on Deep Learning

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2022
The widespread use of renewable energy resources requires more immediate and effective fire alarms as a preventive measure. The fire is usually weak in the initial stages, which is not conducive to detection and identification.

Production of bioethanol from residual barley and utilization of fermentation co‐products in animal nutrition

open access: yesEnvironmental Progress &Sustainable Energy, EarlyView.
Abstract The search for sustainable alternatives for bioethanol production has encouraged the valorization of agro‐industrial residues. This study evaluated the use of residual barley as a feedstock for bioethanol production and as a potential ingredient for ruminant feed.

Waste to Hydrogen: Transforming Food Waste Into Biohythane (Bio‐H2 + Bio‐CH4) in a Two‐Stage Reactor With the Aid of a Metal‐Ion Catalyst

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a two‐stage catalytic bioreactor system that converts real food waste into high‐purity biohydrogen and biohythane. In Stage‐1, an enriched Clostridium thermocellum culture combined with Ni2+─Fe2+ bimetallic catalysis enhances hydrolysis efficiency and hydrogenase activity, resulting in a 77% increase in H2 yield and 75.8% purity

Revisiting the minimum ignition energy of hydrogen–oxygen mixtures: Insights from experiment and theory

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
The minimum ignition energy (MIE) of hydrogen–oxygen mixtures, reported as approximately 1.2 μJ, is over an order of magnitude lower than that of hydrogen–air mixtures, indicating heightened ignition hazards.

A comprehensive Lagrangian flame–kernel model to predict ignition in SI engines

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computer Mathematics, 2013
A Lagrangian model to predict the first stages of the combustion process in SI engines, when the size of flame kernel is small compared with the mesh size, and flame development is influenced by heat transfer from the spark, local flow, turbulence and air/fuel mixture distribution is presented.
