Turbulent length scales in a swirling flame

Symposium (International) on Combustion, 1996
LDV measurements of spatial velocity correlations and integral length scales in a swirling jet and a swirling diluted hydrogen flame are described. The experimental setup consists of two conventional laser Doppler anemometers working in forward scattering mode, one fixed and the other moved by a special traversing system.

Multi-functionalization of cotton fabrics with excellent flame retardant, antibacterial and superhydrophobic properties.

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2023
Cotton fabric is widely used in many fields for its excellent comfortability, breathability and hygroscopicity. However, the development of multifunctional cotton fabrics to meet the requirements of different scenarios is a top priority.

Measurements of flame length and flame angle in an inclined trench

Fire Safety Journal, 1992
Abstract Measurements of flame length and flame angle from fire sources mounted in a tiltable trench are reported. The results from three different source configurations are presented and discussed. Empirical correlations between rate of heat release of the fire source and flame length for the experimental configurations have the general form L ∝ Qn.

Flame lengths under ceilings

Fire and Materials, 1980
AbstractThe evaluation of hazards from developing room fires often requires a knowledge of flame lengths developed by burning objects. Procedures for estimating flame lengths have been available only for vertical plume fires, where there is no flame impingement on the room ceiling.

Temperature profile and flame extension length of a ceiling impinging round jet fire in an inclined tunnel

International journal of thermal sciences, 2019
Ceiling jet fire may popularly occur due to gas fuel leakage caused by corrosion of the pipeline in underground galleries or other accidental factors, and usually inflict major heat hazards and related risks. So the characteristics of a ceiling impinging

Measured lengths of supersonic hydrogen-air jet flames—Compared to subsonic flame lengths—and analysis

Combustion and Flame, 1996
Abstract Measurements of flame length are reported that help to quantify the overall fuel-air mixing process that occurs within a jet-like flame in the supersonic regime. A nonpremixed, turbulent, hydrogen-air jet flame is stabilized along the axis of a Mach 2.2 coflowing air stream.
