Simulation of flame speed enhancement of a hydrocarbon flame with a microwave field

Combustion and Flame, 2019
Abstract This study models the effect of microwave electric field on a premixed flame to achieve an accurate prediction of flame speed enhancement by considering non-thermal electron for both kinetics and mass transport. The results compare well against experimental data, and show that using electron energy distribution function (EEDF) to calculate ...

Turbulence Effects on Flame Speed and Flame Structure

AIAA Journal, 1979
Turbulence effects on methane-air flames stabilized in grid turbulence were investigated through measurements of flame speed and mean and fluctuating flame temperature profiles. Published turbulent flame speed correlations were able to correlate the experimental flame speed data but were contradictory in indicating flame structure and combustion ...

Flame Speed of Hydrogen Sulfide

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry, 1928
An apparatus and method for determining the flame speed of hydrogen sulfide in air by horizontal flame propagation are described. The flame records were made by photographic method, the gas being inflamed in a 2.5-cm glass tube, open at one end and 1 meter long.

Flame speed of a low pressure CS2O2 flame

Combustion and Flame, 1977
The flame speed for a low speed premixed CS_2/O_2 flame has been experimentally determined as a function of O_2/CS_2 ratio. The data, which are given in Fig. 1, were taken for lean flames at 1 kPa, under conditions which are similar to those found in flame lasers.

The Law of Flame Speeds

Nature, 1927
IN NATURE of Dec. 11, 1926, p. 837, Prof. W. A. Bone stated that he would at some future date publish the results of experiments on the uniform movement of flame which disproved the law of speeds. The work referred to has now been published in the Proceedings of the Royal Society (A, 114, 420; 1927) and we can reply to Prof. Bone's letter.

On the extraction of laminar flame speed and Markstein length from outwardly propagating spherical flames

open access: yesCombustion and Flame, 2011
Large discrepancies among the laminar flame speeds and Markstein lengths of methane/air mixtures measured by different researchers using the same constant-pressure spherical flame method are observed.
