A Dislocation Perspective on Strength and Toughness in Ceramics
Dislocations in ceramics enjoy a long but yet under‐appreciated history. The three research waves for dislocations in ceramics highlight the topic evolution over the last 90 years. This review focuses on the impact of dislocation on strength and toughness in ceramics.

Flame Spread and Extinction Over a Thick Solid Fuel in Low-Velocity Opposed and Concurrent Flows
Flame spread and extinction phenomena over a thick PMMA in purely opposed and concurrent flows are investigated by conducting systematical experiments in a narrow channel apparatus. The present tests focus on low-velocity flow regime and hence complement

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Role of buoyant flame dynamics in wildfire spread [PDF]
Significance Wildfires burn millions of hectares per year on every inhabited continent, but the physical mechanism governing spread is not known. Models of wildfire spread are widely used for prediction, firefighter training, and ecological research but have assumed various formulations of known heat transfer processes (radiation and ...

A robust plant protein adhesive was prepared by fabricating a bi‐continuous organic–inorganic hybrid structure. Compared with traditional organic–inorganic hybrid adhesives, the addition amount of inorganic phase is increased from 0.2%–3.0% to 50%, and the strength and toughness are increased by 6 and 121 times, respectively.

Electrochemical etching provides an eco‐friendly alternative to hazardous HF methods for MXene production. This approach facilitates the selective isolation of the A‐layer from MAX phases with tunable surface terminations. Controlling voltage, electrolytes, temperature, and duration enables the optimal structural integrity. Nevertheless, existing scale
