Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

Experimental study on the influence of restricted distance on the discrete flame spread of different widths

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
In this paper, the effects of varying material widths on the propagation of discrete fires within diverse confined space conditions are investigated experimentally.

可燃性固体の燃え拡がりに及ぼす周囲雰囲気の影響 (第2報, 希釈の影響と気相の温度測定) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
To investigate effects of ambient atmosphere on flame spread, an experimental study has been conducted. The downward flame spread over solid fuel has been examined in a combustion chamber with a vertical duct to obtain uniform ambient atmosphere.

Path‐Decoupled Cation‐Eutaxy III–V van der Waals Memristive Semiconductors for Mitigating the Neuromorphic Accuracy‐Energy Trade‐off

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Path‐decoupled III–V van der Waals memtransistors spatially separate ionic and electronic transport to overcome the conventional trade‐off between accuracy and energy in neuromorphic hardware. Mobile K+ ions in the vdW gaps set a wide conductance window, Gmax/Gmin, while gate‐tunable hole conduction lowers programming energy, enabling reliable ...

Parametric study of the thermodynamic algorithm for the prediction of steady flame spread rate [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Research and Modeling, 2013
The stationary flame spread rate has been calculated using the relationship based on the thermodynamic variational principle. It has been shown that proposed numerical algorithm provides the stable convergence under any initial approximation, which could be noticeably far from the searched solution.

可燃性固体の燃え拡がりに対するモデルの検討 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
In this study, the model for flame spread over solid fuel is investigated. To re-examine the analytical solution by de Ris, our experimental data on flame temperature and flame spread rate are used, which were obtained by the measurements of downward ...

Weakly‐Coordinating Non‐Fluorinated Diluents for Local High‐Concentration Electrolytes in Advanced Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This perspective critically evaluates non‐fluorinated diluents in local high‐concentration electrolytes, categorizing their solvation behavior, interfacial mechanisms, and sustainability potential to guide future electrolyte design for lithium metal batteries.

Self‐Seeded Nucleation of PET in a Benign Solvent Yields a High Modulus Aerogel With Ultra‐Low Thermal Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A new benign solvent (1,3‐diphenylacetone) enables a simple, safe, and sustainable dissolution and gelation method to convert waste PET into low density, monolithic aerogels with high mechanical strength (E = 20 MPa) and remarkably low thermal conductivity (k = 21.9 to 28.9 mW/m·K).

部分予混合雰囲気中における可燃性固体上の火炎の燃え拡がり解析 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this study, we numerically investigated downward flame spread over a thin solid fuel in partially premixed atmospheres. For simplicity, we assumed that the pyrolysis gas consists of methane and nitrogen. To consider the partially premixed atmospheres,

Designing Strong, Tough, Fire‐Retardant and Self‐Healing Elastomers with Phosphorus/Nitrogen‐ and Biphenyl‐Containing Segments

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
By designing a P/N‐ and π–π interacting biphenyl‐containing diol as hard segments but side groups, a strong, tough, fire‐extinguishing and self‐healing elastomer is developed, demonstrating a break strain of ∼2500%, a toughness of 379 MJ/m3 and a tensile strength of 46 MPa, as well as a healing efficiency of 95% (tensile strength) and 99% (break strain)
