Effects of space size and fire location on heat transfer in flame spread over electrical wire in a small tunnel

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
Understanding the flame spread characteristics in tunnel is crucial for developing effective fire prevention strategies. This paper investigated the influence of two key parameters Ht and Dc on the flame spread characteristics of electrical wire in tunnel.

燃料を添加した部分予混合雰囲気中の可燃性固体の燃え拡がり [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Studies on downward flame spread over solid fuel are useful to understand complex two-phase non-premixed flames including fires. We investigate the flame spread in partially premixed atmospheres, which may occur under poorly ventilated conditions ...

Ultra‐High‐Throughput Discovery of Multifunctional Polyphenolic Coatings on Droplet Microarrays

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An ultra‐high‐throughput (UHT) combinatorial strategy enables the miniaturized synthesis and screening of ≈30 000 polyamine‐polyphenolic (PaPp) coatings using droplet microarrays (DMA). This approach reveals hundreds of previously unknown fluorescent, redox‐active, and antibacterial materials, including multifunctional, cell‐compatible surfaces ...

Toward a Unified Mechanistic Understanding of Polymer Electrolytes for Advanced Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Polymer electrolytes (PEs) are often indiscriminately grouped as “solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs)”, despite fundamental differences in their ion‐transport mechanisms. This Perspective establishes a mechanism‐based framework that distinguishes gel, quasi‐solid, and all‐solid polymer electrolytes based on their dominant ion‐transport pathways.

Experimental Characterisation of Swirl Stabilized Annular Stratified Flames [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A burner for investigating lean stratified premixed flames propagating in intense isotropic turbulence has been developed. Lean pre-mixtures of methane at different equivalence ratios are divided between two concentric co-flows to obtain annular ...

Investigation of Opposed Flow Flame Spread over Solid Fuels

open access: yes, 2021
The opposed flow flame spread over flat solid fuels is of fundamental importance to the field of fire safety. Several features of opposed flow flame spread are experimentally, numerically and analytically investigated.Thermally thick slab of ...

Enhanced Photocatalytic H2O2 Production on Terpyridine‐Based Acrylonitrile‐Linked Covalent Organic Frameworks with Asymmetric Localized Electron Distribution

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Asymmetric localized electron distribution has been optimized in covalent organic frameworks to enhance *O2 adsorption and facilitate charge transfer, boosting photocatalytic two‐electron transfer oxygen reduction toward H2O2 production from water and air.

Effect of Initial Temperature on Flame Spread over a Sand Bed Wetted with Transformer Oil

open access: yesFire
A series of experiments were conducted on quartz sand beds wetted with transformer oil under initial temperatures of 80–140 °C and fuel–sand mass ratios of 1:4–1:8. The flame spreading process over the fine sand bed wetted with limited liquid fuel can be

部分予混合雰囲気中における可燃性固体の燃え拡がり [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Usually, depending on the initial mixing of fuel and oxidizer, combustion process is classified as either non-premixed or premixed burning. Although it may be useful to consider these two modes in theoretical manner, some examples show the intermediate ...

In Situ Photopolymerization of Smectic B Liquid‐Crystalline Electrolytes from Mesogenic Phosphate–Diacrylate/Ionic Liquid Complexes for High‐Performance Soft Ionic Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A flexible liquid‐crystalline electrolyte membrane via in situ photopolymerization of a phosphate‐functionalized mesogen, ionic liquid, and diacrylate monomer is developed. The resulting smectic B (SmB)‐phase structure enables 2D ion transport with high conductivity (10−4 S cm−1).
