Flame transfer function measurements of hydrogen-enriched reheat flames
This study experimentally investigates the dynamic behavior of hydrogen-natural gas reheat flames, which are stabilized by both flame propagation and autoignition. Measurements are conducted on an test rig which allows the acoustic excitation of reheat flames.

Influence of flame-holder temperature on the acoustic flame transfer functions of a laminar flame [PDF]
The occurrence of combustion instabilities in high-performance engines such as gas turbines is often affected by the thermal state of the engine. For example, strong bursts of pressure fluctuations may occur at cold start for operating conditions that are stable once the engine reaches thermal equilibrium.

Analytical modelling of flame transfer functions for technically premixed flames
The linear response to harmonic acoustic excitation of the total heat release rate in technically premixed flames (Flame Transfer Function, FTF) is studied in case of an ideal swirl burner. The analysis is based on the linearization of the production rate for the mean reaction progress variable modelled with a turbulent flame speed closure.

Linear instability of a premixed slot flame: Flame transfer function and resolvent analysis
International audience ; The response to forcing of a 2D laminar premixed slot flame is investigated by means of linear analysis, based on the compressible flow equations with a two-step reaction scheme for methane combustion. The flame transfer function (FTF) is computed from this linear model, in excellent agreement with reference nonlinear ...

Robust combustor design based on flame transfer function modification
Operation under stable conditions is an important prerequisite for gas turbine safety. While recent studies have focused primarily on acoustic design to avoid thermoacoustic instabilities, in the present study we shift the focus to improving stability margins by flame transfer function (FTF) modification.

A Flame Transfer Function with Nonlinear Phase
In this paper we propose a new frame transfer function model describing the variations of a heat release rate in response to an external flow oscillation in gas turbine systems. A critical difference of our model compared to the so-called model which

On the flame transfer function models for laminar premixed conical and V- flames considering the stretch effect [PDF]
This paper investigates a predictive model that considers the impact of stretch on the dynamic response of laminar premixed conical and V- flames; the flame stretch consists of two components: the flame curvature and flow strain. The steady and perturbed
