Flame transfer function measurements of hydrogen-enriched reheat flames

open access: yesCombustion and Flame
This study experimentally investigates the dynamic behavior of hydrogen-natural gas reheat flames, which are stabilized by both flame propagation and autoignition. Measurements are conducted on an test rig which allows the acoustic excitation of reheat flames.

Linear instability of a premixed slot flame: Flame transfer function and resolvent analysis

open access: yesCombustion and Flame, 2022
International audience ; The response to forcing of a 2D laminar premixed slot flame is investigated by means of linear analysis, based on the compressible flow equations with a two-step reaction scheme for methane combustion. The flame transfer function (FTF) is computed from this linear model, in excellent agreement with reference nonlinear ...

Design of Dome Structure for A Lean Premixed Swirled Combustor of Gas Turbine Based on the Numerical Method

open access: yes发电技术, 2023
To analyse the dome structure of the lean premixed swirled combustor, the influences of lance tip shapes, inflow air flow rates, numbers and locations of fuel nozzles and head expansion ratios on the combustion flame, flow field and flame dynamic ...

Flame Detection Method Based on Improved YOLOv5 [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng, 2023
The existing image-based flame detection approach finds it challenging to balance real-time and precision, and it is incapable of accurately identifying small flame targets, making it ineffective for application situations such as small fire ...

Convective Velocity Perturbations and Excess Gain in Flame Response as a Result of Flame-Flow Feedback

open access: yesFluids, 2022
Convective velocity perturbations (CVPs) are known to play an important role in the response of flames to acoustic perturbations and in thermoacoustic combustion instabilities.

Bistable swirled flames and influence on flame transfer functions [PDF]

open access: yesCombustion and Flame, 2014
Large Eddy Simulations (LES) are used to study a lean swirl-stabilized gas turbine burner where the flow exhibits two stable states. In the first one, the flame is attached to the central bluff body upstream of the central recirculation zone which contains burnt gases. In the second one the flame is detached from the central bluff body downecirculation

Study on Unstable Combustion Characteristics of Model Combustor with Different Swirler Schemes

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
In this paper, the effect of the swirler scheme on combustion instability is studied. Through the proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) of flame images, Abel inverse transform and other methods, the influence of swirl intensity on the characteristic ...

Analytical modelling of flame transfer functions for technically premixed flames

open access: yesInternational Journal of Spray and Combustion Dynamics, 2022
The linear response to harmonic acoustic excitation of the total heat release rate in technically premixed flames (Flame Transfer Function, FTF) is studied in case of an ideal swirl burner. The analysis is based on the linearization of the production rate for the mean reaction progress variable modelled with a turbulent flame speed closure.
