Photo-Sintered Silver Thin Films by a High-Power UV-LED Module for Flexible Electronic Applications
In recent printed electronics technology, a photo-sintering technique using intense pulsed light (IPL) source has attracted attention, instead of conventional a thermal sintering process with long time and high temperature. The key principle of the photo-

Abstract We develop an algorithm that relates the incubation time for flash initiation to the workpiece velocity as it is pulled through stationary electrodes in a continuous flash sintering experiment. Experiments with a whiteware green body that is sintered in this way are compared with the model.

A Viewpoint on Hot Spots in Microwave Sintering and Flash Sintering
Microwave sintering and flash sintering are field‐assisted ceramic processing techniques in which heating is totally or partly obtained inside the material itself by a coupling between the ceramic material and the electromagnetic or electrical field. They frequently give rise to the observation of localized temperature excess known as hot spots that ...

Flash Sintering of Commercial Zirconium Nitride Powders
Flash sintering is an electrical field-assisted densification technique that requires passing a current through a ceramic powder compact. Pressure-assisted flash sintering of commercially available Zirconium Nitride (ZrN) powders has been demonstrated ...

Millisecond photonic sintering of iron oxide doped alumina ceramic coatings
The sintering of alumina (Al2O3) traditionally occurs at high temperatures (up to ca. 1700 °C) and in significantly long times (up to several hours), which are required for the consolidation of the material by diffusion processes. Here we investigate the

Flash cold sintering of Nb2O5: polarity and electrolyte effects
We report on a novel consolidation technique based on the combination of a liquid (cold sintering) and electricity (flash sintering). The evolution of hydrogen from electrolysis of the solvent triggered the Flash Cold Sintering (FCS) event without need ...

Abstract We present a novel and effective method for sintering ceramic coatings onto metallic substrates. This new technique, called Flame‐assisted flash sintering (FAFS), utilizes a flame as both a heating source and a conformal, current‐carrying top electrode to facilitate flash sintering.

Evolution Mechanism of Photonically Sintered Nano-Silver Conductive Patterns
Flash sintering is the most promising sintering method because of its high speed and large area of effect. However, current flash sintering processes exhibit poor stability and the conductive pattern surface is highly susceptible to damage during this ...
