LDPC Codes for Flat Rayleigh Fading Channels with Channel Side Information

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2008
In this paper, we design capacity approaching low- density parity-check (LDPC) codes in the low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regime for flat Rayleigh fading channels with channel side information at transmitter and receiver. We use the structure advocated by Caire et al, which uses a single codebook with dynamic power allocation.

Studies of Flatness of LiFi Channel for IEEE 802.11bb

2020 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC), 2020
A task group named IEEE 802.11 Light Communications Amendment-Task Group “bb” (TGbb) was established in July 2018. By bringing light-fidelity (LiFi) technology into the WiFi ecosystem, LiFi can take advantage of the globally recognized WiFi brand, while also improving its capability due to the fact that LiFi does not interfere with WiFi.

Intersymbol interference with flat fading: Channel capacity

2008 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2008
This paper finds the capacity of a linear time-invariant system with a given transfer function, observed in additive Gaussian noise through a memoryless fading channel. A coherent model is assumed where the fading coefficients are known at the receiver (but not the transmitter).

Estimation of continuous flat fading MIMO channels

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2002
Multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) systems can provide high data rate wireless services in a rich scattering environment. We study one of the proposals for MIMO systems, the Bell Labs Layered Space-Time (BLAST) architecture. Channel estimation using training sequences is required for coherent detection in BLAST.

Linear Equalizers for Flat Rayleigh MIMO Channels

Proceedings. (ICASSP '05). IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005., 2006
We consider linear detectors for MIMO systems, i.e., multi-antenna systems where linear equalizers are employed to remove spatial interference. We analyze the behavior of linear equalizers through outage probability. The MMSE equalizer was found to behave in unexpected ways.

Time prediction of non flat fading channels

2011 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2011
In this paper three different techniques to predict the channel transfer functions of non flat fading channels in multiple antenna systems are investigated. The prediction is done into time direction. In time division duplex systems, it is beneficial to have the full channel state information.

On frequency offset estimation for flat-fading channels

IEEE Communications Letters, 2001
We consider the problem of estimating the frequency offset between the transmitter and receiver in flat-fading communication channels using a training sequence. Kuo and Fitz (1997) and Morelli, Mengali and Vitetta (see IEEE Commun. Lett., vol.2, p.327-30, 1998), proposed two frequency estimators to solve the aforementioned problem.

Packings of monodisperse emulsions in flat microfluidic channels

Physical Review E, 2012
In the lateral confinement of a flat microfluidic channel, monodisperse emulsion droplets spontaneously self-organize in a variety of topologically different packings. The explicit construction of mechanically equilibrated arrangements of effectively two-dimensional congruent droplet shapes reveals the existence of multiple mechanical equilibria ...
