A Novel GaN LED Structure With Both P and N Discontinuous Ohmic Contacts and Discontinuous CBL

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2022
In this paper, a novel kind of GaN light-emitting diode (LED) with P and N discontinuous ohmic contact electrodes and discontinuous current blocking layer (CBL) is designed and prepared.

Carbon stars in the X-shooter Spectral Library [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We provide a new collection of spectra of 35 carbon stars obtained with the ESO/VLT X-shooter instrument as part of the X-shooter Spectral Library project. The spectra extend from 0.3$\mu$m to 2.4$\mu$m with a resolving power above $\sim$ 8000.

Ultra-high stability of cesium lead halide nanocrystals synthesized by a simple one-pot method

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2019
Three-dimensional (3D) all-inorganic cesium lead halide perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) have showed significant potential in optoelectronic applications due to their unparalleled optical properties, but it still remains problems in applications, especially

Optimization of Reading Conditions for Flat Panel Displays [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Digital Imaging, 2006
Task Group 18 (TG 18) of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine has developed guidelines for Assessment of Display Performance for Medical Imaging Systems. In this document, a method for determination of the maximum room lighting for displays is suggested.

NICMOS Imaging of a Damped Lyman-alpha Absorber at z=1.89 toward LBQS 1210+1731 : Constraints on Size and Star Formation Rate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We report results of a high-resolution imaging search (in rest frame H-$\alpha$ and optical continuum) for the galaxy associated with the damped Lyman-$\alpha$ (DLA) absorber at $z=1.892$ toward the $z_{em}=2.543$ quasar LBQS 1210+1731, using HST/NICMOS.

Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.

Whither Flat Panel Displays? [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The paper examines possible consequences of subsidies to R&D and to volume production proposed under the Clinton administration's flat panel display initiative. We do this in the context of a model in which firms behave competitively in the short run, while realizing that their choices of capacity and yield-improving R&D in the medium and long run will

Adherence to Protocol Recommendations for Children With Wilms Tumour in Two Consecutive Studies in the United Kingdom and Ireland—Does Variation Matter?

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Wilms tumour (WT) has excellent event‐free and overall survival (OS). However, small differences exist between countries participating in the same international study. This led us to examine variation in adherence to protocol recommendations as a potential contributing factor.
