Pixel Circuit Designs for Active Matrix Displays

open access: yesApplied System Innovation
Pixel circuits are key components of flat panel displays, including liquid crystal displays (LCDs), organic light-emitting diode displays (OLEDs), and micro light-emitting diode displays (micro-LEDs).

A preliminary study of flat-panel displays [PDF]

open access: yes
Six display technologies that might be of future value in a spacelab workstation are discussed. Some have been developed to the point where they could be used as a computer display while others have not.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Recent Advances of Solution-Processed Heterojunction Oxide Thin-Film Transistors

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2020
Thin-film transistors (TFTs) made of metal oxide semiconductors are now increasingly used in flat-panel displays. Metal oxides are mainly fabricated via vacuum-based technologies, but solution approaches are of great interest due to the advantages of low-

Time-frequency analysis of chaotic systems

open access: yes, 2002
We describe a method for analyzing the phase space structures of Hamiltonian systems. This method is based on a time-frequency decomposition of a trajectory using wavelets.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Unseeded Crystal Growth of (100)-Oriented Grain-Boundary-Free Si Thin-Film by a Single Scan of the CW-Laser Lateral Crystallization of a-Si on Insulator

open access: yesCrystals, 2020
Laser crystallization of a-Si film on insulating substrate is a promising technology to fabricate three-dimensional integrations (3D ICs), flat panel displays (FPDs), or flexible electronics, because the crystallization can be performed on room ...
