Appropriate transient thermal analysis of an absorber plate in flat-plate solar collectors from beginning to end operational conditions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Modern Thermodynamics in Mechanical System, 2022, 2021
This work establishes a closed-form analysis for two-dimensional transient heat transfer in an absorber plate based on the thermal wave model when the collector starts to work. The method of separation of variables is employed to determine the exact thermal response during the starting of a solar collector.

CFD Analysis of a solar flat plate collector with different cross sections

open access: yes, 2020
Low and medium solar heating systems used for domestic and industrial applications, such as water and space heating, usually utilize solar flat plate collectors in order to absorb solar thermal energy converting it into heat and then transferring the ...

Numerical transient modeling of a flat plate solar collector

open access: yesResults in Engineering, 2022
The present study deals with numerical simulation of a typical flat plate solar collector. The transient two-dimensional governing differential equations of absorber plate, working fluid and glass cover were formulated to describe the thermal problem of ...

Influence of gas flow rate on liquid distribution in trickle-beds using perforated plates as liquid distributors [PDF]

open access: yesIndustrial and Engineering Chemistry Research 48, 1 (2009) 7-11, 2008
Two wire mesh tomography devices and a liquid collector were used to study the influence of the gas flow rate on liquid distribution when fluids distribution on top of the reactor is ensured by a perforated plate. In opposition to most of the studies realized by other authors, conditions in which the gas has a negative impact in liquid distribution ...

Thermal Analysis of the Flat Plate Collectors

open access: yes, 2021
The use of solar dryer is slowly finding its way for food and other industrial drying in Nepal. Here in, we designed flat plate solar collector to make perfect black body by changing coating material on absorber metal plate with varied inclination of collector plate.

Performance investigation of solar water heating system using flat-plate absorber integrated with thermal storage

open access: yesCleaner Engineering and Technology, 2023
The solar water heating (SWH) technology is a cost-effective method of harnessing solar energy and widely used in various countries worldwide. Adding thermal storage to the flat-plate collector increases the performance of the SWH system.

Repulsion Between Finite Charged Plates with Strongly Overlapped Electric Double Layers [PDF]

open access: yesLangmuir, 32 (37), 9445-9450 (2016), 2017
The screened Coulomb interaction between uniformly charged flat plates is considered at very small plate separations for which the Debye layers are strongly overlapped, in the limit of small electrical potentials. If the plates are of infinite length, the disjoining pressure between the plates decays as an inverse power of the plate separation.
