CFD Analysis of a solar flat plate collector with different cross sections
Low and medium solar heating systems used for domestic and industrial applications, such as water and space heating, usually utilize solar flat plate collectors in order to absorb solar thermal energy converting it into heat and then transferring the ...

Transient Characteristics of Flat-plate Solar Collector
A flat-plate solar collector moidel with uniform capacity distribution was proposed, and its basic equations were derived, to discuss transient characteristics for periodic solar-intensity variation. The finite difference calculations based on these equations showed better agreement with the experimental results than the results calculated by a ...

An effective simulation model to predict and optimize the performance of single and double glaze flat-plate solar collector designs [PDF]
This paper outlines and formulates a compact and effective simulation model, which predicts the performance of single and double glaze flat-plate collector. The model uses an elaborated iterative simulation algorithm and provides the collector top losses,

Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

The Caenorhabditis elegans DPF‐3 and human DPP4 have tripeptidyl peptidase activity
The dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) family comprises serine proteases classically defined by their ability to remove dipeptides from the N‐termini of substrates, a feature that gave the family its name. Here, we report the discovery of a previously unrecognized tripeptidyl peptidase activity in DPPIV family members from two different species.

Multivariable controller for stationary flat plate solar collectors [PDF]
The water flow rate control, which is the principal control loop required to operate stationary solar fields, can be as simple as designing a PID controller for a unique pump whose behavior can be approximated by a first-order system with delay. Nevertheless, when the water flow rate is manipulated with multiple actuators (pumps or valves), the problem

Multidrug transporters BpeB and BpeF from the Gram‐negative pathogen Burkholderia pseudomallei have a hydrophilic patch in their substrate‐binding pocket. Drug susceptibility tests and growth curve analyses using an Escherichia coli recombinant expression system revealed that the hydrophilic patches of BpeB and BpeF are involved in the substrate ...
