Portable thermal scanners to detect and monitor small endotherms: A comparative assessment of available equipment to guide practitioners

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2023
Detection is essential to studying and monitoring wild animals; however, detection is challenging for small endotherms that are nocturnal or best detected at night.

3-D thermal and radiation-matter interaction simulations of a SiC solid-state detector for neutron flux measurements in JSI TRIGA Mark II research reactor [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2021
Neutron detection is a relevant topic in the field of nuclear instrumentation. It is at the heart of the concerns for fusion applications (neutron diagnostics, measurements inside the Test Blanket Modules TBM) as well as for fission applications (in-core

Deep processes, velocity, heat and density models of the East Kamchatka upper mantle

open access: yesГеофизический журнал, 2020
For the velocity structure of the lithosphere of East Kamchatka, a tomographic model of high spatial resolution was constructed. Model demonstrates clear relation of velocity values in mantle with subsurface structure.

REAL-TIME ISOHUME MAPPING FOR COOL AND WARM HUMIDITY ISLES OF BENGALURU CITY [PDF]

open access: yesPresent Environment and Sustainable Development, 2020
A naturally gifted city, the development of Urban Moisture Islands (UMI) in Bengaluru is disheartening owing to its rampant-unplanned urbanization to satisfy its rapidly prevalent population.

Decoherence and Thermalization [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2007
We present a rigorous analysis of the phenomenon of decoherence for general N-level systems coupled to reservoirs of free massless bosonic fields. We apply our general results to the specific case of the qubit. Our approach does not involve master equation approximations and applies to a wide variety of systems which are not explicitly solvable.

Thermal Contact [PDF]

open access: yesEntropy, 2008
The concepts of temperature and entropy as applied in equilibrium thermodynamics do not easily generalize to nonequilibrium systems and there are transient systems where thermodynamics cannot apply. However, it is possible that nonequilibrium steady states may have a thermodynamics description.

Evaluation of important phenotypic parameters of tea plantations using multi-source remote sensing data

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
Tea height, leaf area index, canopy water content, leaf chlorophyll, and nitrogen concentrations are important phenotypic parameters to reflect the status of tea growth and guide the management of tea plantation.
