Refining the NaV1.7 pharmacophore of a class of venom‐derived peptide inhibitors via a combination of in silico screening and rational engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Venom peptides have shown promise in treating pain. Our study uses computer screening to identify a peptide that targets a sodium channel (NaV1.7) linked to chronic pain. We produced the peptide in the laboratory and refined its design, advancing the search for innovative pain therapies.

Identification of novel small molecule inhibitors of ETS transcription factors

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
ETS transcription factors play an essential role in tumourigenesis and are indispensable for sprouting angiogenesis, a hallmark of cancer, which fuels tumour expansion and dissemination. Thus, targeting ETS transcription factor function could represent an effective, multifaceted strategy to block tumour growth. The evolutionarily conserved E‐Twenty‐Six

Theoretical analysis of solar thermal collector and flat plate bottom reflector with a gap between them

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2015
Augmentation of solar radiation absorbed on a flat plate solar thermal collector by a flat plate bottom reflector was numerically determined when there was a gap between the collector and reflector. The inclination of both the collector and reflector was

Lagrangian analysis of the laminar flat plate boundary layer [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Fluids 28, 103604 (2016), 2016
The flow properties at the leading edge of a flat plate represent a singularity to the Blasius laminar boundary layer equations; by applying the Lagrangian approach the leading edge velocity profiles of the laminar boundary layer over a flat plate are studied.

miRNA‐29 regulates epidermal and mesenchymal functions in skin repair

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
miRNA‐29 inhibits cell‐to‐cell and cell‐to‐matrix adhesion by silencing mRNA targets. Adhesion is controlled by complex interactions between many types of molecules coded by mRNAs. This is crucial for keeping together the layers of the skin and for regenerating the skin after wounding.

Lubrication dynamics of a settling plate [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
If a flat, horizontal, plate settles onto a flat surface, it is known that the gap $h$ decreases with time $t$ as a power-law: $h\sim t^{-1/2}$. We consider what happens if the plate is not initially horizontal, and/or the centre of mass is not symmetrically positioned: does one edge contact the surface in finite time, or does the plate approach the ...

Approximate Representation and Exposition of ISI Flat Plate Collector including Revised Flat Plate Collector : A Review

open access: yesInternational Journal of Scientific Research in Science, Engineering and Technology, 2020
Cosmic power is one of the numerous renewable energy sources that can use in a Photovoltaic (PV) system or Thermal. Solar collectors play a crucial role in solar thermal systems. They convert solar radiation into heat and transfer the heat to working fluids Such as water or air. The Flat-plate collectors are the numerous common type of solar collectors

Optimization of the design of a polymer flat plate solar collector [PDF]

open access: yesSolar Energy, 2013
This work presents numerical simulations aimed at optimizing the design of polymer flat plate solar collectors. Solar collectors' absorbers are usually made of copper or aluminum and, although they offer good performance, they are consequently expensive. In comparison, using polymer can improve solar collectors economic competitiveness.

Spot‐14 and its paralog Spot‐14R regulate expression of metabolic and thermogenic pathway genes in murine brown and beige adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Spot‐14 and Spot‐14R play distinct roles in regulating metabolism in brown and beige adipocytes. While both influence lipid and glucose pathways, Spot‐14 uniquely controls thermogenic gene expression. This dual regulation balances energy storage and heat production, highlighting potential therapeutic targets for obesity and metabolic disorders. Spot 14

Analyses of a Flat Plate Photovoltaic and Thermal Solar Collectors [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Trend in Scientific Research and Development, 2019
This paper shows a one dimensional limited volume model of an unglazed photovoltaic warm PVT sun oriented gatherer. The unit comprises of an ordinary sun based photovoltaic PV gatherer combined with an appropriate warmth exchanger. Specifically, the gatherer incorporates a move security heat exchanger and it isnt furnished with back and outline ...
