Boundary First Flattening [PDF]
A conformal flattening maps a curved surface to the plane without distorting angles—such maps have become a fundamental building block for problems in geometry processing, numerical simulation, and computational design.

INDUCTION HEATING IN HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT. APPLICATION IN MODERN TRANSPORT REPAIRING TECHNOLOGIES [PDF]
The technologies used in repair of vehicles were analyzed in the given paper. The shortcomings of the mechanical repair methods in question can be solved by using induction heating.

Generalized Distributed Reaction Systems [PDF]
In this paper, we introduce the notion of a generalized distributed reaction system with computations following the concept of the original reaction system: the resulting products in the individual components are obtained by applying rules which ...

Research on the Flattening Method of an Energy-Based Fabric Deformation Model in Garment Design
Surface flattening plays an important role in the whole process of garment design. We proposed a novel method by using three-dimensional triangle mesh flattening in this study.

Flattening and Implication [PDF]
Flattening is a method to make a definite clause function-free. For a definite clause C, flattening replaces every occurrence of a term f(t1, . . . , tn) in C with a new variable v and adds an atom pf(t1, ...,tn,v) with the associated predicate symbol pf with f to the body of C. Here, we denote the resulting function-free definite clause from C by flat(

THE FLATTENING OF GLOBULAR CLUSTERS [PDF]
In the three nearest luminous galaxies, the Milky Way System, the Andromeda Galaxy and NGC 5128 the brightest globular clusters are rounder than the faintest ones. On the other hand (contrary to some previous results) the flattening of individual LMC clusters is found to be independent of their luminosities.

A Curved Plate-Flattening Method to Construct the Membrane Strain Distribution
The surface-flattening process has many applications in industries such as shipbuilding. Curved surfaces in the industry are usually formed from flat surfaces, so the target surface needs to be flattened to obtain its corresponding initial shape.

Flattenings and Koszul Young flattenings arising in complexity theory [PDF]
I find new equations for Chow varieties, their secant varieties, and an additional variety that arises in the study of depth 5 circuits by flattenings and Koszul Young flattenings. This enables a new lower bound for symmetric border rank of $x_1x_2\cdots x_d$ when $d$ is odd, and a lower bound on the size of depth 5 circuits that compute the permanent.

We consider a generalization of the concept of $d$-flattenability of graphs - introduced for the $l_2$ norm by Belk and Connelly - to general $l_p$ norms, with integer $P$, $1 \le p < \infty$, though many of our results work for $l_\infty$ as well. The following results are shown for graphs $G$, using notions of genericity, rigidity, and generic $d$-
