Disposable pyruvate biosensors for routine assessment of onion flavour [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The UK-grown onion sector shows strong potential for growth through new product development as consumers become increasingly aware of the health and dietary benefits of fresh onion consumption. Prospects for the production of new, more palatable sweet

Evolution of Physical Intelligence Across Scales

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
By following the evolution of physical intelligence across scales, this article shows how intelligence arises from materials, structures, physical interactions, and collectives. It establishes physical intelligence as the evolutionary foundation upon which embodied intelligence is built.

Behaviorally Adaptive and Inclusive Advanced Driver‐Assistance Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Advanced driver‐assistance systems (ADASs) are mapped as evolving human‐centered, adaptive technologies linking sensing, driver monitoring, AR/HUD interfaces, patents, regulation, and inclusive design. The review identifies gaps in real‐world evidence, diverse‐driver validation, gaze metrics, and governance, outlining a roadmap for safer, behaviorally ...

Firm turnover under asymmetric information: Tanzania's agro‐dealer sector

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract We study firm turnover (i.e., entry and exit) and its consumer implications in a market characterized by asymmetric information. Using a three‐round census of agro‐dealers in Tanzania's Morogoro Region, we document annual firm entry and exit rates of 33% and 17%, respectively.

Heavy fourth-generation neutrino and flavour-changing neutral currents

open access: yesZeitschrift für Physik C Particles and Fields, 1988
We study the flavour-changing neutral currents in the case that the fourth-generation neutrino exists and the known three left-handed neutrino masses are at the experimental limits of the direct measurements. The fourth-generation neutrino has the mass of order a few ten GeV and the flavour-changing processes of the heavy neutrinos are expected to be ...
