Single Top Results by ATLAS and CMS

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2012
Electroweak production of top quarks, the so-called single top production, is interesting both in the context of measurements of the Standard Model of Particle Physics as well as searches for new phenomena beyond that.

Using photovoice to understand community perceptions of firearm risks and protective factors among Asian Americans

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract This study used photovoice methodology to explore Asian Americans' perspectives on the root causes and protective factors of firearm violence in their communities. Photovoice provided a participatory platform for community members to document lived experiences and identify priorities for change.

Immigrant mental health, safe work, discrimination, and state policies: From racism and xenophobia to health equity

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract An ecological model was developed to examine the pathways linking immigration state policies to physically safe work conditions and work volition, interpersonal discrimination, and mental health distress. The ecological framework was tested among two subsamples totaling 529 Latinx immigrant participants: (1) immigrants who resided in states ...

Becoming resilient: Community‐driven change and the Civic Capacity Index

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract One of the principal features of successful community governance is that it is collaborative and thus dependent on a community's ability to work together. However, there are no valid, comprehensive means to assess a community's capacity to respond to civic challenges in collaborative ways, and that are predictive of community resilience and ...

Water‐Derived Radical Species Initiate Six‐Electron Oxidation of Cyclic Ketones in Microdroplets

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Spontaneous six‐electron oxidation of cyclic ketones to yield dicarboxylic acids/keto acids is achieved in ethanol microdroplets containing about 2% water under ambient conditions without any metal salts, acids, or oxidants. Mechanistic studies show that trace amounts of water and molecular oxygen serve as active oxidants in this transformation ...

The Flavour-Changing Neutral Currents Decay t-->Hq at ATLAS Experiment

open access: yes, 2005
The sensitivity of the ATLAS experiment to the top-quark rare decay via flavour-changing neutral currents t --> Hq (q represents c and u quarks) has been studied at sqrt{s} = 14 TeV in the decay mode of ttbar --> HqWb --> WW*q,Wb -->l \nu l \nu j, l^{\pm}

Search for flavor-changing neutral currents via anomalous ctH and utH couplings

open access: yes, 2020
In this master thesis, flavour-changing neutral currents are investigated at a center- of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s} = 13\;$TeV with the ATLAS detector. Two different flavor-changing neutral current processes are investigated.
