This study used a sheep model to biomechanically analyze the healing strength of the anulus fibrosus after two types of anular incisions. This study evaluated whether the type of anular incision made at the time of lumbar discectomy plays a role in the subsequent healing strength of the anulus and the biomechanical flexibility of the corresponding ...

Numerical and Experimental Investigation of the Torsional Stiffness of Flexible Disc Couplings
International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 2016Abstract Disc couplings are widely used in compressors, gas turbines, and aerospace applications because of their flexibility and their consequent ability to compensate in almost all directions. The torsional stiffness of disc coupling has a great influence on shaft torsional vibration, and in many applications low-order torsional resonance may occur

NON-LINEAR VIBRATION OF A FLEXIBLE SPINNING DISC WITH ANGULAR ACCELERATION
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 2000Non-linear dynamic responses are analyzed for a flexible spinning disc with angular acceleration. Based on the Kirchhoff plate theory and the von Karman strain theory, non-linear equations of motion are derived, which are coupled equations between the radial, tangential and transverse displacements.
