Response of a flexible marine column to base excitation

The displacement response of a flexible, surface-piercing cylinder subjected to a unidirectional base motion is considered in this study. Laboratory experiments have been performed with a circular, fixed-base model using sinusoidal and scaled seismic input motion.

Microwave re-excitation of femtosecond laser tagging for highly flexible velocimetry

Molecular tagging velocimetry is typically species specific and limited by excited state/species lifetimes. We utilize laser-generated ionization, long-lived anions, and a time-delayed microwave pulse to monitor the tagged region up to several milliseconds.
