Flexible automation and the loss of pooling synergy [PDF]
This paper focuses on the effects of flexible automation on the performance of a job shop. Flexible automated machines may significantly improve the delivery performance and the flow time of jobs.

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Efficient heuristics for the hybrid flow shop scheduling problem with missing operations [PDF]
In this paper, we address the hybrid flowshop scheduling problem for makespan minimisation. More specifically, we are interested in the special case where there are missing operations, i.e.

Energy efficiency in discrete-manufacturing systems: insights, trends, and control strategies [PDF]
Since the depletion of fossil energy sources, rising energy prices, and governmental regulation restrictions, the current manufacturing industry is shifting towards more efficient and sustainable systems.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

A Hierarchical Production Planning and Finite Scheduling Framework for Part Families in Flexible Job-shop (with a case study) [PDF]
Tendency to optimization in last decades has resulted in creating multi-product manufacturing systems. Production planning in such systems is difficult, because optimal production volume that is calculated must be consistent with limitation of production

A novel Tiki-Taka algorithm to optimize hybrid flow shop scheduling with energy consumption
Hybrid flow shop scheduling (HFS) has been thoroughly studied due to its significant impact on productivity. Besides the impact on productivity, the abovementioned problem has attracted researchers from different background because of its difficulty in ...

Scheduling of non-repetitive lean manufacturing systems under uncertainty using intelligent agent simulation [PDF]
World-class manufacturing paradigms emerge from specific types of manufacturing systems with which they remain associated until they are obsolete. Since its introduction the lean paradigm is almost exclusively implemented in repetitive manufacturing ...

Flexible Flow Shop with Storage: Complexity and Optimisation Methods
Abstract The paper is concerned with a two-stage flexible flow shop with a buffer under the assumption that all operations have the same processing time and that each job can be processed on a machine only if a certain amount of buffer space is allocated to this job. The amount of buffer space to be allocated differs from job to job.

MiR‐513a promotes human erythroid differentiation by modulating c‐Jun
During early human erythropoiesis, miR‐513a promoted erythroid differentiation in primary human CD34+ hematopoietic stem‐progenitor cells and human TF‐1 erythroleukemic cells by indirectly decreasing c‐Jun and phospho‐c‐Jun expression, which are associated with increased GATA1 expression.
