A Flexible Chip Multiprocessor Simulator Dedicated for Thread Level Speculation

2016 IEEE Trustcom/BigDataSE/ISPA, 2016
Thread level speculation (TLS) is a promising way to enhance the performance of chip multiprocessor (CMP). Up to now, effective time-accurate CMP simulator dedicated for TLS is still in demand. This paper presents a novel flexible chip multiprocessor simulator "TLSim" dedicated for thread level speculation.

Conformational Flexibility of a Rotaxane Thread Probed by Electronic Spectroscopy in Helium Nanodroplets

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2009
Ultrahigh-resolution spectroscopic studies have been performed to elucidate the conformational landscape of the succinamide-based thread 1 that is frequently employed in mechanically interlocked molecular assemblies. We show how dissolving single molecules into a helium nanodroplet enables us to resolve the broad absorption spectrum--which is normally ...

Application of Evolutionary Method of Search Engine Optimization to Calculate Absolutely Flexible Inextensible Thread [PDF]

open access: yesProcedia Engineering, 2016
The article describes a technique for solving the boundary value problem for an absolutely flexible inextensible thread suspended on two supports. As a solution, the method chosen method of differential evolution, allows to obtain xbcktyyjt solution.

The vibrations of an extensible flexible thread with a small sag

Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, 1997
Abstract The free vibrations of an extensible flexible thread with a small sag are considered. A new form of solution of the equations of equilibrium of an extensible flexible thread is obtained. The differential equations of small vibrations about the equilibrium position are derived.

Fast Dynamic Binary Rewriting for flexible thread migration on shared-ISA heterogeneous MPSoCs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Heterogeneous MPSoCs where different types of cores share a baseline ISA but implement different operational accelerators combine programmability with flexible customization.

The distortion of a flexible inextensible thread in a shearing flow

Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1976
Using the slender-body theory for Stokes flow, the equations of motion are developed for a small flexible inextensible thread. The nearly straight thread is examined analytically, and is shown to straighten rapidly. In a simple shear flow the distortions decay less rapidly, but rapidly enough not to rotate the thread through the plane of flow ...

APPLIED PROBLEMS OF SUSPENSION OF HEAVY FLEXIBLE THREAD IN GENERAL

STRUCTURAL MECHANICS AND ANALYSIS OF CONSTRUCTIONS, 2022
The main tasks of suspension of a heavy flexible thread are formulated in an “exact” formulation: without the use of “simplifications” characterizing the existing methods of calculating overhead wires and cables. A general solution is given to determine the actual position and gravity of the flexible thread modeling the overhead line wire, based on the

Statics and dynamics of a flexible elastic thread wound on a reel

Mechanics of Solids, 2010
The statics and dynamics of a flexible extensible elastic thread wound on a reel and interacting with the surface by the dry friction law are studied. Both the thread loading and unloading are analyzed. The depth of perturbation penetration is found.

Flexible Multi-Threaded Scheduling for Continuous Queries over Data Streams

2007 IEEE 23rd International Conference on Data Engineering Workshop, 2007
A variety of real-world applications share the property that data arrives inform of transient streams. Data stream management systems (DSMS) provide convenient solutions to the problem of processing continuous queries on those streams. Within a DSMS, the scheduling of the queries and their operators has proved to be of utmost importance.

A new pattern for flexible worker threads with in-place consumption message queues

ACM SIGOPS Operating Systems Review, 2005
We present a new pattern for implementing worker threads that is more flexible than traditional patterns. Traditional worker threads receive command messages with enumerated IDs that refer to pre-defined behaviors. In our new pattern, worker threads receive function pointers, and they have only one behavior: invoke the function.
