Dephasing time in graphene due to interaction with flexural phonons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We investigate decoherence of an electron in graphene caused by electron-flexural phonon interaction. We find out that flexural phonons can produce dephasing rate comparable to the electron-electron one.

Pattern and filament optimization for 3D-printed reinforcements to enhance the flexural behavior of cement-based composites

open access: yesJournal of Sustainable Construction Materials and Technologies, 2023
Cement-based materials are the most widely utilized construction materials in the world owing to their high compressive strength, however, need reinforcement to withstand direct or indirect tensile forces.

Multi-objective optimization of carbon/glass hybrid composites with newly developed resin (NDR) using gray relational analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Purpose: It is seen that little amount of work on optimization of mechanical properties taking into consideration the combined effect of design variables such as stacking angle, stacking sequence, different resins and thickness of composite laminates has

Flexural, thermal and dynamic mechanical properties of date palm fibres reinforced epoxy composites

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2019
The aim of the present study is to improve the flexural, thermal stability and dynamic mechanical properties of epoxy composites by reinforcing date palm fibres (DPF) at different loading (40%, 50% and 60% by wt.) and to evaluate the best loading through

The behaviour of remolded Batu Pahat soft clay with different OCR values under cyclic loading [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The Batu Pahat Soft Clay, (BPSC) of Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, (UTHM) were low in shear strength, bearing capacity, and suffer large settlements when subjected to loading.

Pengaruh posisi dan fraksi volumetrik fiber polyethylene terhadap kekuatan fleksural fiber reinforced composite (The effect of position and volumetric fraction polyethylene fiber on the flexural strength of fiber reinforced composite)

open access: yesDental Journal, 2014
Background: Composite resin is a combination of filler and matrix. The additional of fiber in the composite resin has a function as load-bearing in mastication.

Splenic flexure volvulus

open access: yesBMJ Case Reports, 2010
We present the case of a woman in her 50s presenting with acute abdominal pain and absolute constipation. Subsequent investigations revealed large bowel obstruction which was shown on computed tomography scan to be secondary to a rare volvulus of the splenic flexure of her colon. The patient was taken for an urgent laparotomy with resection of 45 cm of

Kirigami-based Elastic Metamaterials with Anisotropic Mass Density for Subwavelength Flexural Wave Control

open access: yes, 2017
A novel design of an elastic metamaterial with anisotropic mass density is proposed to manipulate flexural waves at a subwavelength scale. The three-dimensional metamaterial is inspired by kirigami, which can be easily manufactured by cutting and folding

Experimental analysis of manufacturing parameters’ effect on the flexural properties of wood-PLA composite parts built through FFF [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
This paper aims to determine the flexural stiffness and strength of a composite made of a polylactic acid reinforced with wood particles, named commercially as Timberfill, manufactured through fused filament fabrication (FFF).
