Flexure Modulus of Orthodontic Stainless Steel Wires
Journal of Dental Research, 1981The flexure modulus of elasticity of standard stainless steel orthodontic wires was determined by the use of an iterative finite element technique to be 25.4 x 106 psi (175 x 103 MN/m 2 ).

Flexural Modulus of Lasersintered PA 2200
Volume 2A: Advanced Manufacturing, 2013With the evolving of rapid manufacturing methods, new fields of application become feasible. Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), an additive process, allows the production of medical devices made out of PA 2200, a biocompatible plastic powder. Due to the fast production cycle, medical robots or devices can be highly customised.

Studies on the flexural modulus of structural foams
Journal of Polymer Research, 1994An investigation based on I-Beam models was undertaken in this paper for extending knowledge regarding the flexural modulus of structural foam. The applicability of five I-Beams models (I-Beam A, B, C, D and E) including a newly developed one (I-Beam E) were investigated in this work.

Flexural strength and modulus of a step‐cured resin composite
Acta Odontologica Scandinavica, 2004In an attempt to reduce marginal contraction gaps, a step-curing mode of light polymerization of resin composite has been proposed. It was hypothesized that such an exposure mode, having an initial reduced curing rate, would result in composite having a lower modulus of elasticity than composite exposed in one step.

The influence of resin flexural modulus on the magnitude of ceramic strengthening
Dental Materials, 2012The aim was to determine the magnitude of ceramic resin-strengthening with resin-based materials with varying flexural moduli using a regression technique to assess the theoretical strengthening at a 'zero' resin-coating thickness. The hypothesis tested was that experimentally, increasing resin flexural modulus results in increased resin-strengthening ...

Effect of MTAD on Flexural Strength and Modulus of Elasticity of Dentin
Journal of Endodontics, 2003The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of MTAD on the flexural strength and modulus of elasticity of dentin. Dentin bars were randomly assigned to eight groups treated with various concentrations of NaOCl (5.25%, 2.65%, 1.31%, 0.66%), 17% EDTA, MTAD, saline, or according to a clinical protocol with 1.3% NaOCl and then 5 min of MTAD ...

Study on Flexural Strength and Flexural Modulus of Elasticity of Cement Stabilized Aggregate
Advanced Materials Research, 2011The aim of this study was to study the effect of curing period and cement content of the specimen on flexural strength and flexural modulus of elasticity of cement stabilized aggregate. Four specimen curing periods (7 d, 14 d, 28 d and 60 d) and four different cement contents (4%, 5%, 6% and 7%) were used.

Flexural Modulus of Symmetric and Asymmetric Structural Foams
Journal of Cellular Plastics, 2009In this work, the preparation and characterization of symmetric and asymmetric structural foams is presented. Using low-density polyethylene and modified azodicarbonamide, a compression molding technique is presented to produce structural foams while controlling the skin thickness on both sides.

Biaxial disc flexure – modulus and strength testing
British Ceramic Transactions, 1999There is widespread use of biaxial testing of ceramics, but relatively little information concerning the accuracy of testing, and the pitfalls that can arise unless the test is carefully prescribed. The present paper reviews recent work in measuring elastic moduli using a biaxial natural frequency method, and in investigating some of the potential ...
