Potential model of the modulus of elasticity in flexure for plywood
Wood Science and Technology, 1995Once the modulus of elasticity (MOE) when calculating the bending properties of plywood is obtained, the result is one of the requirements necessary in order to characterize these panels. For this purpose the A.S.T.M. D-3043 Standard establishes the span between the supports and the geometric characteristics of the samples.

Biaxial flexural modulus of antibiotic‐impregnated orthopedic bone cement
Journal of Biomedical Materials Research Part B: Applied Biomaterials, 2007AbstractPreviously reported antibiotic‐impregnated cement strengths have been based on uniaxial and fatigue testing methodologies. These methods may not provide an accurate characterization of bone cement's true load‐bearing capacity in total joint replacement (TJR).

On the use of flexural wave propagation experiments for identification of complex modulus
IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, 2003In this paper, we investigate the nonparametric estimation of the frequency dependent complex modulus of a viscoelastic material. The strains due to flexural wave propagation in a bar specimen are registered at different cross sections. The time domain data is transformed into frequency domain using discrete Fourier transform and a nonlinear least ...

Apparent Flexural Modulus and Strength of Multimodulus Materials
Journal of Composite Materials, 1976The ASTM flexure test is commonly used to measure the flexural modulus and flexural strength of materials other than the plastics for which it was originally developed. The officially designated equations for reporting the test results are applicable only to materials that are linear elastic to failure. However, the test is often used for carbon-carbon

Young's Modulus of Elasticity of Ceramic Materials by Flexure
Transactions of the Indian Ceramic Society, 1952AbstractThe study of the effect of several variables affecting the determination of E-modulus by flexure was undertaken in order to remove the inadequacy of the testing procedure, and to gain a more intimate knowledge of their significance. The diameter, span-depth ratio, heat treatment, porosity, bulk density etc.
