An Improved Analytical Model of a Thrust Stand with a Flexure Hinge Structure Considering Stiffness Drift and Rotation Center Offset

open access: yesActuators
Micro-newton thrust stands are widely used in thruster ground calibration procedures for a variety of space missions. The conventional analytical model does not consider the gravity-induced extension effect and systematic error in displacement for thrust

Large-stroke flexure hinges

open access: yesMikroniek, 2017
Large-stroke flexure hinges inherently lose support stiffness when deflected, due to load components in compliant bending and torsion directions. To maximise performance over the entire range of motion, a topology optimisation suited to large-stroke flexure hinges has been developed to obtain an optimised design tuned for a specific application.

Cold Quad‐Modal Nanocomplex for Precise and Quantitative In Vivo Stem Cell Tracking

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multimodal albumin–bismuth sulfide–superparamagnetic iron oxide (ABS) nanocomplexes are developed for stem cell tracking across four different imaging modalities: MRI, MPI, MSOT, and CT. Combining its flexibility with high sensitivity, this quad‐modal imaging agent enables a robust quantification of ABS‐labeled stem cells in vivo.

Aeroelastic Stability of Rotor Blades Using Finite Element Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
The flutter stability of flap bending, lead-lag bending, and torsion of helicopter rotor blades in hover is investigated using a finite element formulation based on Hamilton's principle. The blade is divided into a number of finite elements. Quasi-steady
