Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Methods of analysis after flight data of TV3-117V gas turbine engine

open access: yesАвіаційно-космічна техніка та технологія
The methods of analyzing post-flight data of gas turbine engines are considered, in particular, a typical method of diagnosing parameters reduced to standard atmospheric conditions, the use of a diagnostic regression model, the methods of factor analysis,

Data-Driven Health Assessment in Flight Control System

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
The aircraft critical system’s health state will affect flight safety dramatically, such as flight control system, and its health state awareness or assessment is very important to avoid flight accident.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Time‐restricted feeding prior to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection reduces tissue CD4+ T cells with limited impact on bacterial clearance

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

APPLICATION OF SELF-ORGANIZING MAP ON FLIGHT DATA ANALYSIS FOR QUADCOPTER HEALTH DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2019
The UAS fault problem has led to many potential risk factors behind its rapid development in recent years. Therefore, the diagnosis of UAS health status is still an important issue.

Human-Factors-in-Aviation-Loop: Multimodal Deep Learning for Pilot Situation Awareness Analysis Using Gaze Position and Flight Control Data

open access: yesIEEE transactions on intelligent transportation systems (Print)
Situation awareness (SA) is a crucial factor affecting flight safety for pilots, yet few studies have focused specifically on modeling SA for pilots, resulting in limited success.

How phagocytic cells kill bacteria: Lessons from a professional killer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
How phagocytic cells ingest and kill bacteria has been studied for more than a century, but many questions remain unanswered. The study of the amoeba Dictyostelium discoideum brings new answers, and new questions. Professional phagocytic cells such as neutrophils and macrophages, as well as free‐living soil amoebae like Dictyostelium discoideum, employ
