Dynamic Time-of-Flight

2017 IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR), 2017
Time-of-flight (TOF) depth cameras provide robust depth inference at low power requirements in a wide variety of consumer and industrial applications. These cameras reconstruct a single depth frame from a given set of infrared (IR) frames captured over a very short exposure period.

Flight simulation in flight dynamics education

24th Atmospheric Flight Mechanics Conference, 1999
Thii paper describes the use of manned Sight simulation for flight dynamics education. The uses of a simulator for instruction and some of the capabilities that make these uses possible are discussed. Specific examples of the use of simulation in classes in the Virginia Tech Aerospace Engineering curriculum are presented.

The JWST Flight Dynamics Operations Concept and Flight Dynamics Ground System

2020 IEEE Aerospace Conference, 2020
The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) Flight Dynamics Team (FDT), operating from the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) Flight Dynamics Facility (FDF), is responsible for providing orbit determination (OD), trajectory predictions, view period predictions, and maneuver planning, monitoring, reconstruction, and calibration. The FDT delivers products

Method of optimization in flight dynamics

Automation and Remote Control, 2014
Consideration was given to the problem of suboptimal control of the flight vehicle in atmosphere which was solved numerically. The results presented corroborate the efficiency of this procedure. The present paper is distinguished for the fact that the complex nonlinear boundary problem was solved using a finite number of arithmetic operations.

Dynamic flight stability of a bumblebee in forward flight

Acta Mechanica Sinica, 2007
The longitudinal dynamic flight stability of a bumblebee in forward flight is studied. The method of computational fluid dynamics is used to compute the aerodynamic derivatives and the techniques of eigenvalue and eigenvector analysis are employed for solving the equations of motion. The primary findings are as the following.

In-Flight Dynamic Checkout

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace, 1963
A new method for tracking transfer functions is described based on Laplace Transformations over the past. This method is very promising for in-flight dynamic checkout. It tracks transfer functions of systems continuously and without delay, while they are in operation. Special stimuli are not needed.

Tensor Flight Dynamics

AIAA Atmospheric Flight Mechanics Conference, 2011
Tensor flight dynamics models flight dynamics with Cartesian tensors that are invariant under all coordinate transformations, even time dependent transformations. It elevates Newton’s Second Law to a law that is not only invariant under inertial coordinate transformations, but under all transformations, thus bringing Newtonian mechanics under the ...
