Icing encounter flight simulator

40th AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting & Exhibit, 2002
The Icing Encounter Flight Simulator is one part of the Smart Icing Systems project at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. From the Smart Icing Systems project, an ice management system was designed that would sense and characterize ice, notify the pilot, and if necessary take measures to ensure the safety of the aircraft.

Distributed flight simulation environment using flight simulator X

2015 10th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI), 2015
The crescent diversity and heterogeneity of vehicles increases the importance of simulation platforms that can reproduce missions using several kinds of vehicles. A platform is being developed at LIACC for this purpose, using Microsoft Flight Simulator X as the simulation engine.

Pilot Response in Flight and Simulated Flight

Ergonomics, 1970
This paper describes an experiment in which an attempt was made to assess the value of two types of response, control activity and physiological activity, as indications of the effect on simulator fidelity of adding pitch motion cues. The investigation used a general-purpose research simulator and a two-seater Hunter T7 aircraft.

Dynamic Flight Simulator

2020 International Conference on Virtual Reality and Visualization (ICVRV), 2020
This article introduces a dynamic flight simulator. The dynamic flight simulator is composed of three-degree-of-freedom platform, flight seat, flight stick, VR glasses, physical simulation platform and other equipment. Experienced people operate the flight joystick, and can experience realistic flight vision through VR glasses.

Flight Simulation of Water Rocket

International Journal of Computational Methods, 2021
The flight of a water rocket involves complicated flows such as a gas–liquid two-phase flow in a pressure tank and a jet flow in an ejection hole. It can be applied to various phenomena by developing a method of reproducing and analyzing complicated phenomena.

Flight simulation in flight dynamics education

24th Atmospheric Flight Mechanics Conference, 1999
Thii paper describes the use of manned Sight simulation for flight dynamics education. The uses of a simulator for instruction and some of the capabilities that make these uses possible are discussed. Specific examples of the use of simulation in classes in the Virginia Tech Aerospace Engineering curriculum are presented.
