Floating Offshore Wind Platforms
2016The chapter introduces the platform types designed for supporting the tower, nacelle and turbine assembly of floating offshore wind turbines. Basic information on hydrodynamics is presented to provide an understanding of platform behaviour in waves. The classification method that distinguishes the platform types is stabilization.

IEEE 1971 Conference on Engineering in the Ocean Environment, 1971
Floating ocean platforms have many potential applications. Concrete construction has definite cost advantages over steel construction. Modular designs lead to feasible construction techniques. This paper discusses the design and motion of platforms designed with these observations as guides.

I - GENERAL In the oil days the first submersible platforms were built to be used in the shallow waters in the LOUISIANA bayous or in the MARACAIBO LAKE banks. They were towed to location, floating on their base pontoons, sunk to the bottom by ballasting of these pontoons for drilling.

Un-Manned Minimal Floating Platforms
Offshore Technology Conference, 2019Abstract A normally un-manned minimal floating platform can be used for several applications to support subsea development. The applications include enabling Long Subsea Tiebacks by supporting power generation and distribution equipment, when the host facility doesn't have excess power capacity (Power Buoy) or the required footprint and ...

Hydrodynamic design of moored floating platforms
Marine Structures, 1996Single point moored floating production platforms provide an economically viable option for deep water marginal field oil and gas production. In the design of such systems, non-linear time domain analysis tools are required to predict the wave and low frequency motions and the mooring forces due to non-collinear wave, wind and current load actions. The

In this chapter we consider the two-dimensional interaction of an incident wave with a flexible floating dock or very large floating platform (VLFP) with finite draft. The water depth is finite. The case of a rigid dock is a classical problem. For instance Mei and Black (J. Fluid Mech.

Long-Endurance Multi-Function Floating Platform
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014Utilizing the wind power in high altitude to generate electrical power has significant meaningful while the pollution of environment of the planet is becoming worse and worse. Wireless aerial surveillance platform is very important to military surveillance, while present method costs too much.

Floating Ice Platforms: Offshore Oil Exploration
Journal of the Structural Division, 1980Offshore exploratory drilling from thickened, floating ice platforms in the Canadian arctic islands is described. Design procedures, based on elastic plate theory and finite element analysis, are used in conjunction with a reduced elastic modulus to predict long-term deflections.

Unsupervised floating platform for environmental monitoring
2016 IEEE International Conference on Automatic Control and Intelligent Systems (I2CACIS), 2016Environmental monitoring plays an important role in human life, so this project aims to provide a spatial-temporal resolution of data collected inland water storages and lakes through the development of a unique floating platform. Several challenges in monitoring environment especially the accessibility to the site and representativesness of data cause
