Securing Water in a Changing Climate: A Transient Solar Desalination Model for the Sundarbans, Bangladesh

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract presents a solar‐powered reverse osmosis (RO) system for the Sundarbans, Bangladesh. Mechanistic modeling reveals a critical seasonal mismatch: during the monsoon, feed water salinity peaks (24.8 ppt) while solar irradiance drops significantly.

Maze Puzzle Pattern‐Based Static Reconfiguration of Photovoltaic Arrays for Enhanced Shade Dispersion and Power Generation Under Partial Shading Conditions

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
A new maze puzzle pattern array (PPA) is presented to optimize shade allocation, alleviate the mismatch losses of PV (photovoltaic) arrays in partially shaded circumstances, and maximize output in partially shaded operation with zero extra sensors, switching components, and optimum searching schemes.

The Critical Role of Economies of Scale: A Techno‐Economic Assessment of Small‐ Versus Large‐Scale Biogas Upgrading in Rural Tanzania

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Small‐scale biogas upgrading can improve methane quality but remains financially unattractive to individual rural households. Community‐scale implementation substantially lowers energy costs, demonstrating that economies of scale are critical to making purified biogas a viable clean‐cooking option in Tanzania.

DFT and Machine Learning Analysis of Eco‐Friendly Formamidinium Tin Iodide Perovskite Solar Cells: Optimizing Charge Transport Layers Through SCAPS‐1D Simulations

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Machine learning using Random Forest, GB, XGBoost, and LightGBM regression algorithms: SHAP plot for PCE. ABSTRACT Tin‐based solar cells are the eco‐friendly alternative to the toxic lead‐based cells that are currently in use. In this context, Formamidinium Tin Iodide (FASnI3) emerges as a promising candidate due to its superior performance, exhibiting

Numerical Design and Performance Optimization of Lead‐Free CsSnGeI3 Perovskite Solar Cells Using Cu2O Hole Transport Layer via SCAPS‐1D

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
The optimal structure of the device FTO/ZnS/CsSnGeI3/Cu2O/Au consists of a CsSnGeI3 absorber layer and ZnS as the buffer layer, FTO as the electron transport layer, and Cu2O as the hole transport layer. For the back contact, gold is utilized. According to the current density–voltage curve, efficiency increases with thickness concurrently.
