The repair of flood-damaged property: a critical review of the needs of homeowners [PDF]
One of the primary reasons why firms fail to meet their customers' needs and expectations is due to their lack of awareness of exactly what those needs and expectations are, i.e.

Humid‐Air Condensation Heat Transfer on Hierarchical Structured Superhydrophobic Graphite Composites
Humid‐air condensation on graphite composites shows that making a surface superhydrophobic is not sufficient to enhance heat transfer. A hierarchical CuO/lauric‐acid coating yields spherical droplets but promotes Wenzel‐type pinning and adds effective thermal resistance under operation.

Flood Frequency Analyses over Different Basin Scales in the Blue Nile River Basin, Ethiopia
The frequency and intensity of flood quantiles and its attendant damage in agricultural establishments have generated a lot of issues in Ethiopia. Moreover, precise estimates of flood quantiles are needed for efficient design of hydraulic structures ...

Influence of the Substrate Temperature on the Growth Mechanism of Allylamine Plasma Polymer Films
The influence of the substrate temperature on the growth mechanism of allylamine plasma polymers is investigated by correlating the plasma chemistry and the physico‐chemical properties of the coatings. New insights about the mechanistic formation of functionalized plasma polymers at a molecular level are provided, paving the way toward a better ...

Making better use of local data in flood frequency estimation [PDF]
Flood frequency estimates are an essential part of flood risk management. They are an important ingredient of many important decisions, informing the cost-effectiveness, design and operation of flood defences, flood mapping and planning decisions in ...

Understanding Operando Water Management in Hydroxide‐Exchange‐Membrane Fuel Cells
Effective water management is vital for high‐performance hydroxide‐exchange‐membrane fuel cells. Using a custom water‐flux station, this study quantifies how membrane thickness, microporous layers, and operating conditions dictate internal water transport.
